15th Annual Elocution & Peace Poster Competition 2015:
Lions Club Of Thane North is pleased to invite students of your school to participate in our 15th Annual Elocution and Peace Poster Competition.
Our club is honored to host this event since last 14 years. It’s success in fulfilling our mission of preparing future leaders with the cooperation of schools in Thane. Each year the number of school and students participation has grown many folds. This is the 15th successive year and we wish more and more schools take part in this mega event of the Thane city. This year we are also adding Lion Quest Program for Teachers & Parents. We request schools to enroll teachers and invite parents for the same.

Schedule Of the day:
8.30 am to 9.15 am : Students Registration
9.15 am to 9.45 am : First Inauguration Session
9.45 am to 12.45 pm : Contest
12.45 pm to 1.30 pm : Lunch for Students and Teacher In charge
1.30 pm to 2.15 pm : Awards & Concluding Session

Elocution Competition:
** The elocution is scheduled in 3 languages viz. Marathi, Hindi and English.
** Students class (VIII, IX and X) can only participate. Participating student has to come in school uniform and school id
** Per language 2 students only. So in case if you are registering for all three languages you can register maximum of 6 students only. Last minute replacement will not be entertained
** Students are strictly advised to report in school uniform only with school ID or else will be disqualified
** Schools are requested to send one teacher in-charge per language
** Any one parent per student will be allowed.
English Medium:
** Clean India – Easy to Learn and Hard to Implement

Hindi Medium:

Rules for Elocution Competition:
** The schools can send 2 students per languages. Students can select from the 4 topics given.
** Each student will be given 4 (FOUR) Minutes, 1 minute for self introduction and the topic introduction 2 minutes for the contents and 1 minute for the conclusion. The time bell will ring after 3 minutes and at the end of 4 minutes.
** The students from each school will speak one after another; marks will be given to each student. The marks of all the students from the school will be added up to make total for the school. The school with the highest marks will be adjudged the Winner and the Runner-up accordingly.
** Schools will be given the Winner and Runner-up Rotating Trophies. The students of the winning schools will receive merit certificates. All the participating students will be given a Certificate of participation.
** Schools will be allowed to speak in the order of registration.
** Marks will be given out of 10 for each head, total out of 50, viz. Introduction, expression, contents, conclusion & presentation
** No half marks will be given. The judge’s decisions on all matters will be final and binding.
** In case of a tie between Schools at the end, the Judges will decide amongst themselves the Winners by consensus.
** Results will be declared after completion of all sessions and Certificates for Participation and Merit will be given.
** Response sheet to be filled by all participants/ teachers and returned before leaving the premises.
** Student can participate in more than one language
** Student participating in elocution competition cannot participate in Drawing Competition

** The best Speaker having highest marks among all languages

Peace Poster Competition:
** The theme this year is “SHARE PEACE”
** The children in the ages group of 11, 12 or 13 as on Nov 15th 2015 are eligible to participate in this peace poster competition.
** We need 2 students of above age group from your school. Each student has to participate individually.
** Students can express their vision of Peace through variety of medium like Charcoal, Paint, Crayon and Pencil. Student need to carry their preferred drawing gadgets with them. NO messages/slogans to be written on the Poster
** The drawing / art work should not exceed 20 inches x 24 inches
** We will provide one copy of drawing paper per participating student.

General Rules:
** Participating schools will be responsible for students to and fro transportation and safety.
** Any cancellation / change in participation has to be registered / reported by 14th August 2015.
