YuStart Challenge:
YuStart is a National Startup Competition, conducted as part of the Entrepreneurship Summit organized by Young Indians, (Bangalore Chapter) along with CII.
The competition intends to foster the ignite the passion for entrepreneurship in the student community.
The event provides a platform for students to pitch in their business startup ideas.
The Top 3 teams stand to win prizes worth Lakhs, apart from being given an opportunity to be incubated.
About the Challenge:
** A multi-staged event – consists of rounds of presentation, review and feedback.
** First round of screening by CII-Yi Team
** 10 Shortlisted applicants will present to the CII-Yi Jury at Bangalore on 25 Sep 2015
** 5 Finalists will get an opportunity to present their business plan to our esteemed panel of judges at the ‘CII-Yi National Entrepreneurship Summit’ on 26 Sep 2015
** Top three teams will be rewarded
Who can participate?:
All participants should be UG or PG students from Indian Colleges and Universities.
Team size: Maximum of 4 members in each team, with a team lead specified.
Start-up plan submissions should be done online at www.yustart.in
Registration Fees *:
Early Bird Registration: Rs. 3500 per team (If paid before 15 July 2015)
Regular Registration: Rs. 5000 per team (If paid before 30 July 2015)
Late Registration: Rs. 6500 per team (If paid before 30 August 2015)
Note:
* YUVA students are eligible for a 20% discount on the fees above
Plan Submission:
Business Plans will be accepted only from teams who have paid due registration fees
Each team is required to submit the following to CII-Yi via www.yustart.in.in on or before 30 August 2015. Any submissions made later than this will not qualify for screening
Executive Summary: One page write-up on the overall plan
Business Plan: Presentation in PDF Format of up to 20 slides, covering the following:
Business concept: Describe the business, its product/offering. It should specify the unique value proposition, and what the business’ competitive advantage will be.
Market Opportunity: Outline the market it will serve, what problem the offering would solve for whom, and the scalability / growth opportunity for the business.
Current status: How far have you progressed with your business plan?
Financial requirements & Financial Projections: Clearly state the capital needed to start the business and expand. Highlight the important financial points of the business including sales, profits, cash flows and return on investment.
Marketing Strategy & Competition Analysis: Pricing, Distribution, Promotion Plans, Sales potential, Current & Potential Competition, Competitive Strength etc.

Plan Submission -Last date for submission of Executive Summary & Business Plan (Includes Early Bird, Regular & Late Joes) ** 30 August 2015 (Last Date)
Screening Round – CII-Yi will review the received plans and announce the 10 Teams who have qualified for the Screening Round ** 15 September 2015
YuStart Prelims – Up to 10 shortlisted teams will present to a CII-Yi Jury in Bangalore ** 25 September 2015
YuStart Final – 5 Finalists to present at the ‘CII-Yi National Entrepreneurship Summit’ at Bangalore ** 26 September 2015
