Nature InFocus conducts Nature InFocus Photography Awards to promote nature and wildlife photographers.

Each year, NIF invites photographers Asia to showcase the best of nature and wildlife moments. These photographs must represent a sense of wonder and empathy with nature’s biodiversity. Both adults and young (under 18) photographers can participate in this photography contest.
TERMS & CONDITIONS :
REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION :
** Submissions will be open from April 15th till June 15th 2016.
** The contest closes at 11:59 pm on June 15th 2016.
** Submissions will have to be made only via natureinfocus.in website.
** No age restriction for participants.
** A registration fee of INR 1000/USD $16 is applicable per entry. You can upload a maximum of 20 photographs with not more than 4 images in each category.
** Photographs that are submitted must have been taken in the last 5 years.
** The organiser of the contest will be allowed to use the winning images in promotion of the contest and the festival. For any other use, the organisers will seek prior permission of the photographer before using the image.
** The sponsor for the award will have the right to use the image for one year & may engage the winning photographer for promotion activities.
** The prize money would be awarded to the contestant after TDS deduction.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION :
For all categories, digital files must be uploaded to the official website. All images must be in JPEG format, RGB mode, with a maximum size of 1920 pixels/5 MB (on the long edge) at 72 dpi. Photographs with borders, frames, watermarks or signatures will not be accepted.
Basic retouching (brightness, saturation, sharpening and contrast) will be tolerated as long as the photograph maintains a close relation with the original image. After receiving the RAW file, any image that is discovered to diverge drastically from the original will be disqualified. Stitching of images is only allowed if the image is a panoramic image.
Once shortlisted images are chosen, participants will be contacted to provide the accompanying RAW file. All information regarding post-processing of the image must be shared on request.
ETHICAL STANDARDS :
Any breach of the following ethical standards will constitute a breach of the rules:
** Entrants must be mindful of the welfare of all animals and safeguarding the environment and ensure that they do not do anything to injure or distress any animals or destroy their habitat in an attempt to secure an image.
** Entrants must not deceive the viewer or attempt to disguise and/or misrepresent the reality of nature.
** Entrants are responsible for ensuring full compliance with any applicable national or international legislation and for securing any relevant permits that may be required.
** We will not accept any images of pets or captive animals.
** If the organizers suspect that an entry has been achieved through cruel or unethical practices, including the use of live bait, the entry will be disqualified.
** Caption information supplied during the registration process must be complete, true and accurate.
** Employees from the organizing team, sponsors & partners are not allowed to participate in the contest.
JUDGING :
The jury, comprising of a group of renowned professionals in the photography and conservation field will meet in Bangalore city to select the winning images using the following criteria:
** Creativity
** Originality
** Composition
** Technical and artistic considerations
The winners will be announced at the time of Nature InFocus festival.

** Category Runners up: INR 25K + Certificate + Trophy + Wrangler Vouchers Worth Rs.2000
** NIF photographer of the year: Additional INR 50K + Certificate + Trophy
