ICTACT Youth Talk Competition
ICTACT Youth Talk is a student contest initiated by ICTACT devoted to bring out inspiring ideas from college students in the form of highly effective and inspiring talks.

ICTACT Youth Talk encourages students from all disciplines to deliver short talk to their peers on their inspiring ideas and thoughts to change lives, attitudes, etc. The talk can be on Technology, Engineering, Science, Futuristic changes in the world, National & International Issues (non-political), Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Business, Management, Media, Entertainment, and any other topic that contributes to a transformation.
This initiative will identify young, powerful communicators who can communicate their ideas to inspire youths participating in the event and also reach out to the online youth community.
Regional level ICTACT Youth Talk competitions are organized to identify the best inspiring youth speakers. The regional winners will be invited as finalists to deliver a speak in the annual ICTACT Youth Summit which will tentatively happen during the week of “International Youth Day” after getting trained in an intensive workshop at Chennai to deliver the best in the Grand Finale. The finalists will present in the midst of several thousands of youth during the Annual ICTACT Youth Summit. ICTACT Youth Talk also comes with attractive prizes for the winner in the Grand Finale.
ICTACT Youth Talk is organized by ICTACT, a not for profit autonomous organization, an initiative of Government of India, Government of Tamil Nadu and Industry.
ICTACT Youth Talk Format
The speaker who is going to deliver the speech has to choose a topic which will have a vital message to inspire the youth audience. The speaker is expected to deploy all the passion, energy, attitude, skills and abilities to make the speech very interesting and effective. The duration of the talk will be for a maximum of 15 minutes and the speaker has to deliver a power packed talk in that stipulated time which can create an impact in the minds of the Youth audience. It will be strictly time bound and the speaker should abide by the time counter.
Contest Process
Application & Screening:
All the applicants are screened through a brief telephonic screening to be shortlisted for the Regional level competitions.
Level 1 (Regional)
Regional level competitions to be held in Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Tiruchirappalli during first week of August 2015
The following are the steps in the Regional Contest.
** PRELIMS: All Shortlisted applicants shall contest in the Prelim round to get qualified for the regional finale.
** REGIONAL FINALE: Top 10 contestants selected from the prelim will compete in the Regional Finale
** Top three regional finale winners to get prizes, awards with certificates.
** One Regional topper from each region will be selected to compete in the national finale.
Level 2
The National finale is to be held at Coimbatore on the 12th and 13th of Aug 2015.
The following are the steps in the National Finale:
** MENTORING WORKSHOP: The 6 regional toppers to get free mentoring workshop on 11 Aug 2015
** PRE-FINALS: The 6 regional toppers will compete for the top 3 positions, who will win a trip to Singapore.
** GRAND FINALE: The top 3 pre-finalists will compete at ICTACT Youth Summit and one will be awarded the ICTACT Youth Icon of the year.
How to Apply
Apply online at http://ictactyouth.in/YouthTalk/register.aspx. Fill in the Nomination form completely and send a soft copy along with a sample audio file of your speech on your selected topic to youthtalk@ictact.in on or before 25th Aug 2015. The Hard copy must be duly signed by the Head of the Institution and sent to us on or before 25th Aug 2015.
The speech will be pre-screened and only shortlisted contestants will be invited to talk for the regional event of the ICTACT Youth Talk which preserves the quality of the event.
Students should prepare well and rehearse enough to deliver effectively.

Rules & Regulations
** ICTACT Youth Talk contest is for students studying Full-Time in any year, any branch of undergraduate, masters from any recognized college across India.
** Regional level contests are conducted at Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Tiruchirapalli. Students from other states shall participate in any of the specified regions as per their convenience.
** The filled in Nomination Form must be duly signed by the Head of the Institution along with a sample audio file of your speech on your selected topic. The incomplete forms will be summarily rejected.
** There is NO FEE charged in any manner to apply for contesting in ICTACT Youth Talk. The contestants will not be paid any TA/DA to participate in the ICTACT Youth Talk. The student contesting shall make his/her own arrangement for the travel and stay.
** The scope of the Talk is not limited to specific topics. Any inspiring idea matters.
** Contestants must prepare their own talks. No plagiarism allowed.
** Each contestant must proceed directly to the speaking position after the brief introduction during the contest
** No attempts to communicate with the audience will be allowed before and after the talk.
** Decision of the Jury will be final. The Jury reserves all rights to select / reject any contestant and is not liable for any explanation on the same.
** The contestants shall not contact judges for direct feedback on the judging process or results during and after the event.
** By entering this contest, the contestants accept the rules and regulations of this contest and agree to abide by these rules and any requirements and/or proceedings by ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu in regard to the ICTACT Youth Talk.
** The ICTACT Youth Talk speeches are pre-scheduled and the contestants must ensure to be available at the venue for both regional level and ICTACT Youth Summit before 8.30 a.m.
** The talks delivered in the ICTACT Youth Talk will be made available in ICTACT Youth Talk website and YouTube channel. The copyrights of the videos will be reserved by ICTACT. The videos can be used by academicians, bloggers and other entities for non-commercial purposes with an explicit reference to ICTACT Youth Talk.
** All the speeches should be delivered only in English.

During speech, if the person stop the talk due to fear of the crowd and nervousness means are you ashamed the person or encourage to speak?
I have lost the mobile whose number I had registered. How do I download my nomination form?
How to send abstract?
Can i edit the abstract i have filled in nomination form before i send the soft copy?
Shall I speak Tamil in this competition?
The success of the talk predominantly relies on the quality of the topic chosen. The chosen topic should have the scope for exhibiting your public speaking skills and thereby to inspire the audience. Thou the scope of the talk is not restricted to specific topic, the chosen topic should be non – political, non-religious and other ambiguous themes which will affect the individual personal and social values. The contestants must prepare their own talk which is strictly free from plagiarism

JUDGING CRITERIA :
Idea / Thought – Original thoughts & opinions, specific facts and ideas, inspirational concepts
Method of Delivery – Appearance, body language, voice projection, fluency and control
Content – Structure, organization, clarity and quality of the presentation
Purpose – interest and relevance to the audience
Collection of information, research, factual details, ideas, original thoughts and opinions
Language – Use of grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary
Delivering in time as per the maximum time allotted
How can I prepare for this competition?
It was given that the regional level competition will be held by 1st week of august but last date to apply was august 25. Little confused
It has been said that finale will be on 12,13august. But last application date is 25th August. Dates are confusing
