Globe Science Olympiad:
Globe Science Olympiad is an initiative taken by The GLOBE-INDIA and Indian Environmental Society whose goal is to promote global learning and observation to benefit the Environment.
GSO Exam:
** Globe Science Olympiad (GSO) will be conducted manually through OMR Sheets and (MCQ) format in your school premises only.
** Admit Card / Roll no. will be provided to each student after submitting the GSO examination fee to school authorities.
** Practice Book will be provided to the student for GLOBE SCIENCE OLYMPIAD worth Rs. 50/- only.
** Practice/ Demo Papers will be given on website to each student for practice at home.
Each book will have two sections:
(a) Science
(b) Environmental Science.
Question Format:
MCQ based examination paper contains:-
** 50 questions carrying 1 mark each.
** 25 questions will be based on Science as per NCERT or State board.
** 25 questions will be based on Environmental Science.
** No Negative marking will be done.
Schools Requirements:
GSO Examination will be conducted in respective schools only under the supervision of the school teachers/GSO Coordinators. Students have to reach the examination hall before 15 minutes of the examination. The schools have to ensure that on the day of the GSO examination, exam centre is duly maintained.
Registration of Students :
The event is open to the students of classes 6th to 12th and registrations are received from the schools in the prescribed pro-forma. Registration Form for the school / students and the information booklet are posted to the schools all over India.
Roll Numbers/ Admit Cards:
** Admit cards along with Students details & Roll no’s will be sent to the school coordinator latest by 15th September 2014. Society will register your school and the students and dispatch question papers and guidelines for conducting the examination. Principals / teachers may please note that any school can be registered as a centre for GSO.
** No fee is required from the institution to become a registered examination Centre. Minimum of 20 students need to be registered from each school for feasibility reasons. Students should be registered through the schools and Individual can also register themselves.
Fees :
A nominal participation fee is charged from each student. Part of it is retained by the school for its expenses as exam centre. Details about the fee / mode of payment etc. are given in the School Registration Forms sent to schools.
Clarifications :
Any clarification regarding rules, format/pattern of the paper, etc., may be sought from the Coordinator through e-mail/fax/phone-call.
