The Young Scientist India :

Theme:
The Search for young talents of India in the field of Science and Technology and to create an International platform.

The Young Scientist Program is designed to promote science awareness to high school students’, to increase their understanding of science and to attract them into scientific careers through activities emphasizing hands-on research and encourage the participants what interest them to connect and collaborate with others to new discoveries.

Guidelines:
** Students are encouraged to work on a project (Make Live Models / Power point Presentationz – anything Creative and Innovative to support their chosen topic) within one of the five categories specified above.
** Students will have to fill in the online application form and along with the same submit their project’s online.
** Students who are unable to send their entries /projects online, can neatly type / print and send 2 sets of copies of the application form and their PROJECT, to Space Kidz india office either by post / courier.
** SKI or Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation is not liable for any postal delays.
** Students will have to write about their project in the below manner,
** Category of the Project
** Title of the Project
** Brief Project Innovation / Summary
** Explain its Uniqueness
** How it can be used for the benefit of our Country / People / Community – (anything, and this is not mandatory)
** Simple projects, not so complicated will be encouraged.

Who can Enter:
** All students from 9th Standard to 12th Standards within the Indian territory.
** One student can participate in one category only.
** Purely basics of individual student participation

Note:
** Not A Team Event
** Entry Free
** Registration along with Project Submission begins on 7th March and closes on 15th June 2016.

Judgement:
A panel of Professors from reputed Educational Institutions’ / Scientists will validate the projects based on the Innovation, Creation and Presentation of the project.
Results of the TOP 25 projects 25 x 5 in each stream will be published in the Space Kidz India website and their schools will be duly intimated. Judges decision will be Final.

Finals: 18th July 2016
** 50 Finalists will be chosen among the entrees to contest in the finals of the “Young Scientist India” – 2016 at Chennai, on the 18th July 2016.
** A Q&A session with eminent professors with regards to the model will take place at the venue. In-depth knowledge of the student participant will be scrutinized and 5 students (5 x 5) from each stream will be chosen to compete for the “COVETED TITLE”
** A common topic will be given to each of the 25 students, a time of 1hr will be given for preparation and then the students will have to speak extempore for 2mins about the same.
** Any on the spot models assembled /charts designed can be showcased to support the pertaining topic given for a minute, and bonus marks will be awarded for the same.
