Make Your Kochi Smart:
** Kochi Smart City Proposal was selected among the first twenty smart city proposals selected for funding under Smart cities mission. Cochin Smart Mission Limited ( CSML), was incorporated under the Companies Act 2013 on 16th March 2016 to implement the Smart City Project in Kochi.

** The company is in the process of developing the Smart City proposal into projects. The CSML has been initiated various consultative processes to gather ideas and strategies to make Kochi Smart. In this context, CSML is organising a competition for the public for the reimaging of public spaces like Streets, Junctions, and Parks etc.
** The CSML is organising a completion named “MAKE YOUR KOCHI SMART”, proposals are invited from the public (students, professionals etc) for reimaging the Mahatma Gandhi road in Ernakulam and the Nehru Park in Fort Kochi . These projects aims to increase the amenity value of Kochi by developing greenery and well maintained open spaces
Scope of work:
1) Reimagining of M G Road:
** Mahatma Gandhi Road (MG Road) is a major commercial street in Kochi city and is one of the busiest roads of the city. It is well connected with public transport. The project for reimagining the M G road is limited from Thevara to Jos Junction (approximately 2 km distance). The design must aim at improving the street design to achieve the world class services to the citizens.
** The street design should be in harmony with the existing urban character along the M G road. The Road design including the design specifications for carriage way(cycle tracks and barrier free design giving due importance to the differently abled and elderly, pedestrian path, street furniture, street signages , junction designs, bus bays, hoarding design and location, provision for street vending, etc
2) Rejuvenation of the Nehru park:
** Nehru Children’s Park is a strategic green space within in the fort Kochi City. The park is situated in the historic vicinity of Fort Kochi area of Kochi city.
** The park re-design should focus on the needs recreational needs of the public with special attention to elderly, differently abled and Children.
** The re-design proposal should include the design of the park, landscaping features (hard &soft), furniture, child friendly equipment etc. The proposal should also include innovative strategies for the operation and maintenance of the park.
General instructions:
** The entry can contain text and free hand drawing, visual graphics and sketches and/or drafted drawings. The author is free to use colours as appropriate.
** Any photographic images used in the entry must carry the credits for each image used.
** The language for the entries will be preferably English. Local language may also be used.
** Quantities and numbers must be given in metric units.
** All entries will be in specific response to a call for entry for a particular city posted on the MyGov portal.

Submission:
The design entries to be uploaded in the My Gov and to be presented in the form of maximum 15 Power point slides.
Selection Process & Prize money:
** Selection of the entries will be conducted by a jury appointed Cochin Smart Mission limited.
** Shortlisted entries will be invited to present before the jury before final selection.
** The prizes will be announced on MyGov.
** The selected entry will carry a citation and a cash award worth Rs. 50,000/- for each project.
** The winning entries will be showcased on MyGov as well as in the CSML’s website.
