National Design and Research Foundation (NDRF) invites entries for the 47 All India Student Design Competition – 2016.

The disciplines covered under the Design competition are:
1. Aerospace Engineering 9. Environmental Engineering
2. Agricultural Engineering 10. Marine Engineering
3. Architectural Engineering 11. Mechanical Engineering
4. Chemical Engineering 12. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
5. Civil Engineering 13. Mining Engineering
6. Computer Engineering 14. Production Engineering
7. Electrical Engineering 15. Textile Engineering
8. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Three Prizes are being awarded in each of the fifteen disciplines, adjudged best in order of merit, and to be decided by a Panel of Judges.
The Prizes would be:
First Prize : Gold Medal
Second Prize : Silver Medal
Third Prize : Bronze Medal
** Besides these Prizes, winners will also receive a Certificate of Appreciation. The Competition is open to the Final and Pre-Final year students of BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech / MS or equivalent courses in Engineering from Indian Universities, IITs, IISc and also for the Senior Technician/Technician Members of IEI, who have passed the AMIE Examination.
** This Competition is intended to give students an opportunity to exhibit their individual engineering skills and talents and there by earn recognition, while promoting Engineering Design and Research in the country. Participants are requested to see overleaf material regarding details of entry conditions to be complied with. The entries with complete details should reach NDRF on or before th 20 August 2016 .
General Conditions of Entry:
1. The competition is for individual students only. No Joint entries are permitted.
2. Students may submit any design, which is done either as a part of the program of his/her engineering studies or a design specially worked out for the competition.
If a team of students have jointly done a project, the Principal/HOD should certify (Certificate of Authenticity) the role played by the student entering the competition and an account of approximate percentage of his/her contribution in the entire design project.
3. There is no entry fee what so ever.
4. Each student can participate only in any one discipline.
5. The design project for the competition must not exceed 20 pages of standard A4 size (single side). The design project must contain description about the design, brief history of the existing technology and improvements proposed and the conclusions
