ICI-IITM National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC) 2015:
The ICI-IITM National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC) 2015 is the first national level competition to be held at IIT Madras in which students from various universities of all over India make their own canoe, row them and compete. It is a nine month long project in which students perform structural and stability design and study on various materials to build light weight and high strength concrete and build two-seater canoe.20 teams from 5 states are participating in the canoe race to be will be held at the towing tank (82 x 3.2 x 2.8 m)on august 22nd and 23rd. Also, exhibition of canoes, racing and academic/industrial lectures, etc. are planned during the event.
