Sastra Pratibha Matsaram :

** The biggest school based science talent search exam
** Conducted since 1999 without fail

** A science contest to educate school children about science and technology from ancient to modern with special reference to Indian Contributions to Science.
** Winners get a chance to participate in the national camp.

Eligibility :
Students of standard VI to XI of General Education Department, Board of Education such as CBSE/ICSE/State Syllubus are eligible to participate in SPM. The candidates will be categorised into two groups:
** Group A – Standard VI, VII and VIII
** Group B – Standard IX, X and XI

Structure of the SPM :
** Level I: Written examination (OMR) of 60 minutes duration at selected centres. The medium of examination will be Malayalam /English.
** Level II: Zonal camp for qualified candidates from each class based on a cut-off mark.
** Level III: Two-day State Science Camp for qualified candidates of Level II. Two candidates from each standard (total 12) will be selected as Sastra Pratibhas.

Syllabus :
The syllabus for both groups covers up to 40% on Indian Contribution to Science and Technology from ancient to modern. General knowledge and School curriculum of the respective group covers the rest 60%.

The study material (Malayalam/English) will be supplied to those registered.

Privileges for Winners :
** Certificates for Participants of Zonal Camp and State Camp.
** Cash prize, memento and certificate for the winners of State Camp.
** Winners of State Camp can participate in the National Camp.

Last date for registration : August 31, 2016
Level I: Written examination : October 23, 2016
Level II: Zonal Science Camp : January 15, 2017
Level III: State Science Camp : April 8 & 9, 2017
