School of Law, VELS University is extremely glad to announce the organisation of the CLEA Mooting Competition on 12th and 13th November 2016.

The Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA) has been organizing the CLEA Moot Court Competition bi-annually in which Student Teams from universities from the Commonwealth compete for the Common Wealth Shield. The Moot Court Competition has grown over the years and attracts the finest talent from the Commonwealth Countries, providing a platform for students to participate, interact and learn from each other.
The VELS University is hosting the National and Common Wealth Rounds for India, 2016 on 12th and 13th November, 2016 being conducted by the VELS University. The Chancellor of the VELS University is Patron of the Common Wealth National Rounds.
The President, CLEA Asia-India is the Coordinator of the CLEA Regional Mooting (National and Commonwealth Rounds).The Winning Teams of the National Rounds shall participate in the Final Rounds of the Commonwealth Mooting, i.e., the Fifteenth Commonwealth Moot which is to be held in Melbourne Australia in March 2017.

Last Date for Memorial Submission: 31st October 2016
Date of Moot Court Competition : 12th&13th November 2016

Note:
(1) All participating institutions have to confirm participation by sending an email to cleavelsmoot2016@gmail.com along with the scanned copy of Demand Draft by 23rd September, 2016.
(2) The draft of Rs.2000/- shall be drawn in favour of The Registrar, VELS University, Velan Nagar, P. V. Vaithiyalingam Road, Pallavaram, payable at Pallavaram, Chennai
(3) Teams shall post the hard copies of the filled registration form along with the original draft of Indian Rupees 2000/- by 5th October, 2016 to Velan Nagar, P.V. Vaithiyalingam Road, Pallavaram, Chennai -600117.
(4) No subsequent change in the team composition shall be permitted.
