Target Group:
The children in the schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education in the following

Categories:
Primary: I-V
Upper Primary: VI-VIII
Secondary: IX –XII

The schools may participate in any of the levels or in all the levels.

Eligibility:
Bonafide student of a school affiliated to CBSE, studying in standard I to standard XII can participate in the competition in the respective categories through their schools. Individual entries will not be accepted.

Medium: Hindi/ English

Guidelines for offline Quiz conducted by the School:
** The schools may conduct the quiz on any day during 1st to 15th October 2016. The quiz will majorly focus on this month’s theme ‘Sound and Music’ along with questions related to General Science, Mathematics and Technology.
** It is mandatory for schools to conduct this in- house quiz competition and only the selected best two students from each category (primary, upper-primary and secondary) will be eligible for participation in the second stage.
** The schools have to register themselves and the names of the winners in each category, number of participants, two photographs of the event and a report in 200 words must be uploaded by the schools on www.cbseacademic.in website under the ‘Avishkar Quiz’ tab on 17th & 18th October 2016 to be eligible for participation in the second stage.
** This link will be active till 5:00 p.m. on 18th October 2016.

The specifications of the photograph for uploading are as follows:
** Image Format – JPEG, Size of Image –Maximum 200 KB. Utmost care should be taken while filling up the registration form and submission of report of first stage. In case, the email id registered is found to be invalid, no user id and password will be issued.
** Report submitted by any other mode like email, post etc. shall not be considered for registration. This is only the first level of the competition and the Board will give no prizes to winners of the first stage.

Registration Number:

** Please note the ‘Registration Number’ is generated after submission of registration form and report. In case your registration form is not submitted properly the ‘Registration Number’ will not be generated so kindly resubmit until this number is generated.
** Please save this registration number and the registered email-id as it will be essentially required for downloading of login-id and password of the second round.

Guidelines for Online Quiz conducted by the Board:
1. All the schools which have registered for Avishkar quiz series in the first stage by uploading their reports on the link given on www.cbseacademic.in on 17th & 18th October 2016 are eligible for participation in the Online Quiz competition and shall follow the guidelines given below:

a. The Online Quiz Competition will be held on 21st October 2016.
b. User id and password can be downloaded from the link, which will be available under the tab “Avishkar quiz” on www.cbseacademic.in from 19th to 20th October 2016.
c. Schools will provide the user id and password to the students only on the day of the online quiz.
d. Best entries shall be selected on the basis of maximum scores obtained and minimum time taken for completion of the Quiz.

Please note that, those who have not received the registration number shall not be able to get user id and password. The registration number and the registered email id must be recorded for future reference.

The participating schools may note the following:
1. Participants have to be present in their own school and the Online Quiz competition will be held under the personal supervision of the Principal of the school.

2. The quiz will be held in three categories as per the following schedule on 21st October 2016:
Primary: I-V 9:45 a.m. to 10: 30 a.m.
Upper Primary: VI-VIII 11:30 a.m. to 12: 15 p.m.
Secondary: IX-XII 1: 00 p.m. to 1: 45 p.m.

3. The link shall be available on www.cbseacademic.in under “Avishkar quiz” tab ten minutes prior to the commencement of the quiz scheduled for each category.
4. The total time duration for the quiz will be 45 minutes.
5. There shall be a total of 50 Multiple-choice questions.
6. There shall be no negative marking.
7. Attempting all questions is not compulsory.
8. Once submit button is clicked, the score and time shall be saved and no changes can be made thereafter.
9. The participant has to login using his/her user id and password.
10. The final selection will be based on the maximum score obtained and minimum time taken.
11. Quiz shall not be conducted again if there are technical problems at the Centre.
12. The principals shall be personally responsible for smooth and fair conduct of the Online quiz in their schools by giving all technical support required.
13. However the school shall give no support whatsoever to the candidates participating in the Online quiz competition for answering the questions.

14. The schools must ensure the following for the smooth conduct of online quiz competition:
a. Uninterrupted Broadband connection/back up dongle in the school for proper access of the website.
b. One computer for each candidate.
c. Backup power in case of power failure with UPS connected to each computer and the Internet router.

15. The school must test the system one day in advance.
16. The technical failure shall not be considered the reason for re-conduct of the quiz and School shall be responsible for provision of all required technical support.
17. There are no sample papers/questions available for the quiz, please explore various knowledge resources (reference books, magazines, journals, textbooks, online resources etc.) and prepare.

For claiming the prize money, the Principal of the school shall send a bonafide certificate of the winner in the proforma given in the circular issued within three days of declaration of the result on the email id: avishkarquiz@gmail.com
