Indian Himalayan Timberline Project (IHTP) under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Govt. of India) invites Amateur and Professional Photographers of the world to participate in Photography Contest on the theme “Wildlife in High Himalayas”.

THEME :
High altitudes of the Himalaya are source of inspiration through spiritual values and natural beauty. Every year people visit high Himalayas in search of inner peace, to challenge themselves, and to relish mesmerizing beauty of these mountains.
In these processes several clicks are to be bound especially with an advent of high resolution cameras in mobile phones.
This contest aims to educate and disseminate knowledge about the conservation of Himalayan wildlife and their habitats, in the high altitudes of these mountains, to the people, visitors, and global citizens living elsewhere by inspiring art of the photography.
DESCRIPTION : Any photo where a wildlife in high altitudes of Himalaya (above 10,000 ft areas of timberline, alpine meadows, and snow bound) is the main subject of the photo.

1st Prize – Rs. 15,000/-
2nd Prize – Rs. 12,000/-
3rd Prize – Rs. 7,000/-

RULES AND REGULATIONS :
Participation to the contest implicit that contestant agrees to abide by the rules, and regulations of the competition, and accept the following
** No photo from captivity.
** Contestant certifies that the photo(s)/image(s) submitted is/are original work of the artist who is holder of the copyright and all other rights.
** Entry has not been subject to any digital manipulation except cropping.
** Copyright – By entering into competition contestant accept that they grant permission to CHEA and associated organizations for academic, promotional, and other non-commercial uses with due credits to contestant.
** Award winning entries (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Appreciation) will be property of CHEA with all rights automatically transferred to CHEA. Whenever, these photos will be used due credit will be given to the photographer.
** Decision of Judges will be final. Jurisdiction for all purpose is Nainital.
** Contestant is abide that if entry is disqualified due to reasons discovered later, conferred prize will be returned.
** Employees of CHEA organization and projects therein cannot participate in this contest.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS :
** RAW or JPG Format.
** File size not less than 2MB.
** File Nomenclature – First Initial of Contestant, followed by Name of Animal, followed by Location of capture (e.g., For photo of Pica captured by Mr Pankaj Tewari in Pindari Glacier Area, file name will be Pankaj_Pica_Pindari.jpg).
** Details regarding date and time of capture or EXIF data are required.
** Electronic Submission by email only (must describe – (a) Full name of contestant, (b) nationality, (c) make and model of camera/mobile, (d) postal details, (e) mobile and other phone numbers, and (f) optional – WhatsApp), along with entries as attachments. Incomplete entries will not be treated. One email by one contestant for all submissions.
