Essay Contest:

IFIM College invites students with passion to write and who dare to dream big to participate in the essay contest instituted to pay tribute to a great scientist and scholar Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who significantly contributed to our society and inspired many a youth.

Contest Categories:
** Category 1 PU/11th and 12th level
** Category 2 UG Level
** Category 3 PG Level

Prizes in each of the three categories:
First prize: Rs. 50,000/-
Second prize: Rs. 25,000/-
Third prize: Rs. 15,000/-
Seven Concept prizes: Rs. 5,000/- each

Important Dates:
** Online registrations: November 2-30, 2016
** Announcement of centres and confirmation of registrations: December 10, 2016
** Contest: January 7, 2017
** Announcement of Winners: February 2017

Winners in each category will be selected by a panel of eminent judges and the prize winners will be announced in February 2017

Contest Rules:
** Registration to the Contest is free.
** Incomplete registrations will not be eligible
** On acceptance of your registration you will receive a unique identity number for the contest. You are required to print this and carry it to your centre for the contest.
** The centre for competition will be notified on the date specified through email to mail id provided in the registration form.
** The students are required to bring with them black ink gel/ball pens for writing. Paper will be provided at the centre.
** The length of the essay will be 600 to 650 words and must be original creative work of the student. Working under the broad theme of Vision- India 2022 students may choose their own sub themes. The students will be given 1hr 30 minutes to complete the essay
** All essays submitted will be the property of IFIM College.
** The decision of the panel of Judges would be final and binding on the contestants with respect to award winning essays.
** The results will be announced on the date specified on the website and winners and their institutions will be notified through E-mail.
** Certificates to the participants will be sent to the respective institutions.
** Certificates and prizes to the winners will be distributed at special function in February 2017 at IFIM College, Bangalore

The essays will be evaluated on the following parameters:
** Original content
** Unique style
** Fresh point of view
** Creativity
** Descriptive language
** Good diction
** Practicality of ideas
** Research incorporated into the essay
** Clear and Strong presentation of ideas
** Spelling/Grammar/Word Count
** Relevance to the theme
