NCPCR Still Photography Competition:

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) invites still photographs for its ‘Still Photography Competition’ which aims at recognizing the creative efforts towards promotion and protection of Child Rights.

The theme of the competition should be protection of children against harm/abuse/exploitation etc. and their participation in policies/issues which involves their interest (for example: Child Labour, Child trafficking, Child Marriage, Child begging, Child Sexual Abuse, Superstitious activities and Black magic involving children, use of children in carrying contraband/drugs etc.)

Prizes:
The following prizes will be awarded for the Competition category

** First prize : Rs. 50,000 /-
** Second prize : Rs. 30,000/-
** Third prize : Rs. 20,000/-

Terms & Conditions:
1. There is no entry fee.
2. Any Indian citizen of above 18 years of age can participate.
3. The competition will have only one section i.e. colour print. Format is portrait and landscape.
4. Photographers are invited to send colour prints (sizes Portrait 8” x 10” and Landscape 12” x 15”) together with a good quality, digital image (JPG/JPEG format not less than 300 dpi, with the smaller size not less than 2400 pixels) in a DVD/CD.
5. Photos/DVDs submitted to the Commission, if selected, will not be returned to the participants.
6. Maximum Five (05) numbers of photographs per entry will be allowed.
7. Each entry should be accompanied by a brief note (up to 200 words) describing location photographed, any relevant narrative, activity or information and why the photographer considers the photograph appropriate for the competition.
8. Each entry should contain a certificate confirming that the participant is the author of the photograph, that he/she has not violated any law in taking the photograph and agreeing that the organizers will not be responsible for any claims/suit challenging the authorship, or infringement on the privacy of any person clearly recognizable in the photograph(s) submitted.
9. The NCPCR will not be responsible for any kind of damage or loss in transit.
10. Entries received after the closing date will not be entertained.
11. Entries will be judged by a jury, constituted by NCPCR, consisting of persons experienced in the field of photography. The decision of the judges will be final and no queries or objections will be entertained.
12. After selection of the images, the photographer should send original file in high resolution to the Commission.

Guidelines for sending the Photographs:
File Size of the Image: Each Image sent should be of 3 – 5 MB size
Format of the Image: Image should be in JPG/JPEG format
Print out of the Images: Soft images should be supplemented with the hard copies in Portrait 8” x 10” and Landscape 12” x 15” size.

Note:
** Picture should not have been taken before 01/01/2015.
** Third Party: Entry should not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property owned by a third party.
** No commercial content: Entries should not contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service
** Only unpublished pictures would be considered.

** Lens- Focal Length
** Aperture
** Shutter Speed
** ISO Setting
** Place and date

Work Information:
The photographer should attach a separate sheet indicating his /her professional work/experience (in not more than 200 words.) The participant must submit the entries to E-Mail ID: indra.ncpcr@gov.in ; jyoti.ncpcr@gov.in

Sending the Entries by post:
After the participant has sent the photographs through e-mail he/she also needs to send hard copies of images to the below mentioned address:

When to submit:
** All entries must be submitted by 13/02/2017.
** Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted.
