Go Green in the City:
Schneider Electric’s international business case challenge (the “Contest”), also called Go Green in the City, aims at supporting the emergence of innovative solutions to meet future challenges in intelligent energy.

The Contest is organized in three steps, with each step followed by a period of review, assessment and decision to decide who will move onto the next stage in the competition.
** Phase I – Submission of the Initial Application will run from February 13, 2017 – May 12, 2017 (as defined below).
** Phase II – Semi-finals, as defined below, will run until July 24, 2017.
** Phase III – The Final Round will run until the final presentations, October 9-13, 2017.
The Final award will be announced by the jury upon the conclusion of the Final presentations during the week of October 9, 2017.
Eligibility:
Only university students eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of submission of the Initial Application are permitted to submit their proposals.Students worldwide must be registered in a bachelor’s (at least the 2nd year), master’s or MBA program of business or engineering are eligible to compete in the Contest.
Submission Guidelines:
Phase I: Initial Application
You must register for the competition as an individual. However, to submit a full application you must also register as a team of two.
Accepted formats for the initial application:
Text description: .doc or .pdf format, max. 300 words, 12-size Arial or Times New Roman font, file size max. 1 MB
Infographic: .ppt or .pdf format, max. 4 slides/pages including 1 cover slide, file size max. 15 MB
Make sure to clearly state your objectives and ideas for a solution to any of the world’s energy problems, or one of the Schneider Business case challenges. Be creative!
Last Date to submit your case solution is May 12, 2017. Initial Applications must be submitted online in plain English. In submitting the application, the applicant accepts these Rules and Conditions (RAC) and the rules governing the submission of the application form available online at www.gogreeninthecity.com by each team.
Phase II: Semi-Finals:
** If your team is one of the top teams selected by Schneider Electric to proceed to Phase II, you will be asked to present an 800-word synopsis of the case based on your initial idea for intelligent energy management in a city. In addition each team should also submit a 2-minute video case presentation.
** The presented idea needs to be a clear evolution of the idea you submitted in Phase I.
** Selected teams will be assigned a mentor from the Schneider Electric team. The mentor will coach the team and help them in preparing their synopsis.
** The Last Date for the synopsis and video presentation submission is July 24, 2017.
Phase III: Final Round
** Once Schneider Electric has reviewed the participant synopses, the top 12 teams will be announced. These teams will be flown to Paris to participate in the finals on October 9~13, 2017.
** The 12 teams will be invited to Paris by Schneider Electric to present the case challenge solutions for intelligent energy management that they have worked on with their mentors.
** All selected individual finalists are guaranteed an interview for internship positions with Schneider Electric.
** A final jury panel, composed of Schneider Electric’s high level managers, will judge the final presentations.
** The selected teams for Phase III will have to provide support material for a live 10 minute oral presentation, which will be followed by a Q&A session with the jury panel.
Winning Team:
** By the end of Phase III, one winning team will be selected.
** The winning team will be given the opportunity to travel to an additional two countries (after the final event) in which Schneider Electric has the available resources.
** The team will have the opportunity to visit Schneider Electric’s offices, network with employees and interact with high level management.
** The two winning team members will be extended a job offer within Schneider Electric, in accordance with the availability of open positions.
** At this stage, the two winning team members have the possibility to accept or reject Schneider Electric’s proposal, and thus Schneider Electric shall not be held liable should the two winning team members wish not to accept the offer extended.
** Schneider Electric will not guarantee the country of the job opportunity nor the functional area.
