Mussoorie Half Marathon :
This year’s course, same as last year, will take a journey through the eastern part of Mussoorie and out towards Dhanaulti. The races will start at the Hanifl Centre, taking runners out East along Tehri Road.
4th Mussoorie Half Marathon : 25th October 2015
Throughout the run, runners will catch beautiful and breathtaking glimpses of the Himalayan mountain range with a constant view of the rolling Himalayan Foothills and fresh mountain air. All races will finish back at the Hanifl Centre, completing an out and back race course for the 5km, 10km, and Half Marathon races! ENJOY!!!:):)
Time Chip Technology!
NEW this year to the Mussoorie Half Marathon and 10km races will be the use of time chip technology!! Sensors will be placed at the Start/Finish, 10km turn around, and Half Marathon turn around!! Still working on the 5km race and 2.5km checkpoint!! Official timing will be provided by Runizen, including results and online certificates after the race!

Race Packet Pick-Up > Saturday October 24th
13:00 to 17:00 at the Hanifl Centre (same place as start/finish line!)
*Only time packet pick-up will be available! No race day packet pick-up since race is on a Sunday this year!
Race Day > Sunday, October 25th
6:00 am to 6:15 am – All runners check-in at Hanifl Centre
7:00 am – Half Marathon Race starts
7:10 am – 10km Race starts
7:20am – 5km Race starts
10:30 am – Awards Ceremony
Race Cut Off Times :
5km Race = 1.5 hours
10km Race = 2 hours
Half Marathon = 4 hours and 30 minutes
*Half Marathon turn around water station will pack-up 2 1/2 hours after race start (9:30am)!
Age Limit :
5km = 12 years and above
10km = 14 years and above
Half Marathon = 17 years and above
Event History :
For the first two years of the Mussoorie Half Marathon, it traced its course along the crest of a ridge, where the town was first established in the 1820s. A number of important landmarks are situated on this route, including the Mussoorie Library, founded in 1843, and the Municipal Gardens, also known as Company Bagh.
But the most important historical site is Everest House, which marks the turnaround point of the Mussoorie Half Marathon. These ruins, overlooking the Dehradun valley, were once part of Park Estate, owned by the Surveyor General of India, Sir George Everest, after whom the highest mountain in the world is named. In the mid-1800s, Everest House served as a benchmark for the earliest cartographic surveys of the Himalayas, the point from which most altitudes and distances were calculated
