Nandini Voice For The Deprived is organising an all India essay competition on “Are reforms needed in Indian trade union movement ?”
Objective :
In recent times, the Indian trade union movement has come under control of the political parties. Further, both blue collar workers and white collar workers demand trade union rights. Karl Marx, who gave the famous call that the workers have nothing to lose except the chain and wanted them to fight for their rights, would not have thought that air pilots and officers in institutions like banks who enjoy fat salaries and perks , would demand trade union rights and become the beneficiaries of the call given by him several decades back.
The objective of the essay competition is to give an opportunity to everyone to provide their views as to whether Indian trade union movement now need reforms.
Eligibility :
All Indian citizens can participate
Other details:
The essay should be of maximum 1500 words and can be written in English, Tamil or Hindi.
Last date for receipt of essay is 30th June,2015.
Five prizes will be awarded to the best of entries.
Highlights of the views of the participants would be sent to the central and state governments.
