Jingle Poem Writing Competition :

The Contest is being organized by International Labour Office (ILO) New Delhi, India under the “Work in Freedom” Programme to promote decent work for domestic workers.

Please review the following Rules, Terms and Conditions of use concerning your participation in this competition.
1. By entering the “Jingle Poem Writing Competition under the theme ‘‘Domestic Work Is Important and Domestic Worker are Workers’,” you accept the Terms and Conditions below.

2. The jingle can be submitted in English, Hindi, or any Indian language (for languages other than English or Hindi a translation must be submitted in English/Hindi). For regional languages, participants are free to use local idioms and colloquial terms that domestic workers can identify with.

3. This competition is open to anyone aged over 18 years old and a resident of India. Employees of ILO are not eligible to participate in the competition. No admission fee is required to participate.

4. The person entering the competition must be the sole author of the entries. If an entry is submitted on behalf of the institution/organization, the authorship will belong to that institution/organization. The entries should be original work of the participant(s) and must not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party and/or the provisions of the Indian Copyright Act 1957.

5. The copyrights associated with the entries submitted will belong to the ILO and ILO will have the sole right for reproduction, adaptation of the ‘Works’, and their sound recordings, broadcasts, or use them in published material, such as films, or ‘cinematograph works’, or convert and publish as web/electronic media content. The author cannot exercise any right over it.

6. The poems/jingles/rhymes should not use any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
7. To enter the competition, all authors must use the official entry form and must submit their pictures via email at domesticwork@ilo.org. Please submit all entries using a single email account.
8. No more than FIVE entries may be submitted by any one person/organization.

9. Rhymes/Jingles/Poems that have won awards in other competitions, or similar poems from the same sequence, are disqualified from entry. Songs/rhymes/jingles previously published are ineligible.

10. Selected jingles will be converted into songs and recorded for wider dissemination. No royalty will be paid to the author of the jingle/poem and the author gives the right to adaptation.
11. The opening date for entries to the competition is 1 August, 2017 and the closing date for entries to the competition is 12:00 midnight of October 31, 2017, India.

Criteria For Entry :
12. Please follow instructions on the website for submitting entries. Please include a small brief on the background of the jingle (optional) and descriptive information about your jingle, for example where specified.

Length: Selected jingles will be converted into songs. Please use an appropriate length for the jingle, which should be written in verse.

13. Entries will only be accepted in digital format (in word and pdf document). All entries must be sent via email/online form as mentioned above. If it is impossible to do so, in exceptional cases hard copy entries will be accepted at : “Work in Freedom”, International Labour Office, Core 4B, India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road New Delhi 110003, India, along with the filled official entry form.

14. The organizers reserves the right to reject entries, which they, in their absolute discretion, consider may cause offence or may be unsuitable or inappropriate for this competition.

Judging :
15. A panel of judges, will judge all entries.
The judges will be looking at:
** Jingle verse and words used
** The pun and humour it brings along with promoting rights of domestic workers
** The impact it creates and its relevance to promoting decent work for domestic workers
** Idiom used ensuring the language is colloquial so that domestic workers can identify themselves in them.
** Possibility of composing the jingle as a song, which can be sung by domestic workers (e.g. beat and melody)
** Caption/Title of the Jingle

16. The decision of the organizers and judges on all matters relating to the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into at any stage.
17. The awards will be announced online at the ILO website and all the winners will be notified as per the details provided during submission of the photo.
18. By entering the competition you agree that if you are selected as the winner, you will be available to participate in any ceremony/event, which may be organized by the ILO in the context of this competition.

19. Competition Prizes will include a certificate and prize money as under:
1 First Prize :INR 20,000/-
1 Second Prize: INR 15,000/-
1 Third Prize: INR 10,000/-
5 Recognition Prizes: INR 5000/- each
