CANON Photomarathon India 2015 :
TERMS & CONDITIONS :
1. The photo marathon contest is open to all residents of India. Any person willing to participate in the Photo Marathon will have to fill out the registration form available at the venue.
The registered participants would be given two themes on the spot (one by one) on the date of the contest.
The participants will have to click the photographs according to the theme at the venue and submit the same with Canon representatives at the venue itself.
2. In order to be eligible for the Photo contest, the photograph taken should be digital and capable of being transferred to a computer. Canon shall not be responsible for any compatibility issues that may arise with such photograph.
3. The Photograph should be in JPEG format only. Each participant will be required to submit only one photograph per theme. It is up to the participant to choose the photograph he/she wishes to use at the time of submission.
4. Canon shall not be liable for any error / lapse / slippage in uploading any photograph for the Photo contest.
5. The photographs should be taken strictly from a Digital SLR / Digital cameras. Cellphones of any kind are not allowed
6. Any direct or indirect cost / expenses incurred by the registered participants towards taking the photograph and participating in the Photo contest shall be borne solely by the registered participant (including the cost of travelling / visiting the venue) and Canon shall not be responsible for the same.
7. Both Color and / or black-and-white photographs are accepted in the Photo contest.
8. Objects should not be added or removed in order to enhance the shot.
9. No composite images shall be accepted in the Photo contest.
10. No registered participant will be allowed to see other competing entries.
11. Only in-camera editing is allowed. The photograph must not be manipulated outside the camera. Canon would not provide any facility / equipment to support the same. If a photography is deemed to be manipulated by any of the judges or Canon personnel, that entry would be disqualified from any prizes/awards in the competition
12. The true representation of what was captured at the time of the picture shot being taken must be maintained. Compositing and multiple exposures are not allowed. Sandwich shots, double exposure, Photographs which consist in any way of more than one separate image or which has been manipulated are not eligible.
13. All photographs will be judged on the basis of relevance to the theme, composition, sensitivity, creativity and style.
14. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
15. The personal and Camera information of the participants provided at the time of registration shall become the property of Canon (including its Group Companies) for its direct / indirect marketing activities. Participation in this Photo contest is conditional on providing the above mentioned information by the participant and the participant agreeing to the above mentioned use of the information by Canon.
16. The Participants unconditionally and irrevocably grants / assigns to Canon the copyright of the photograph submitted for the Photo contest and which shall be used by Canon for its future marketing activities. In case the photograph is of an individual, then such photograph will be accepted for the photo contest only when the participants will provide the consent / NOC letter from such an individual for the use of his/her photograph by Canon for Canon’s future marketing activities as well as the document for transfer of the copyright in such photograph in favour of Canon. In case of any third party claim against Canon including on account of any third party IPR violation, the Participant will indemnify Canon for the same.
17. The winners shall be announced on the day of the competition and will receive prizes as determined by CIPL. Additionally winners will also be notified through our CANON India Facebook page
18. Canon reserves the right to request for a valid identity proof and other requisite documents from the Winners of the Photo contest.
19. The prizes are not exchangeable for any other product or item, are non transferable and cannot be encashed under any circumstances.
20. Photographs submitted by registered Participants must be entirely their own work. All images must be original and must be taken / clicked by the participants submitting the photograph.
21. The participant hereby confirms that the Photographs submitted by him shall neither be in violation of any third party Intellectual Property Rights / any law nor shall be defamatory / obscene / vulgar or detrimental to National interest or prejudicial to the interest of Canon or society in general.
22. Canon reserves the absolute right to reject any photograph which is obscene / vulgar or defamatory or detrimental to National interest or prejudicial to the interest of Canon or society in general or violates any third party IP Rights / any law.
23. Canon reserves the right, at any time, to disqualify any Participant who registers his photograph / submits the photograph that is not in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the photo contest or who tampers with the entry process.
24. The photo contest cannot be combined with or clubbed with any other scheme and/or offer from Canon, subsisting or announced at a future date by Canon.
25. The photo contest is not open to Canon employees and/or their family members / partners / associates.
26. The photo contest shall be void, if prohibited by law.
27. Failure by Canon to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
28. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Canon (including its officers, directors, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of this photo contest.
29. This is a promotional photo contest and all decisions on the eligibility / registration of any participant or acceptance of his / her photo for the photo contest or any other matter relating to this photo contest including the decision on selection of winners, shall be solely of Canon and the decision of Canon shall be final and binding on the participants. Canon reserve the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the contest and/or the Rules without notice for any event that is outside of Canon’s reasonable control. Any changes to the Rules, or cancellation of the contest, will be posted on the Canon India websites, or any other social networking sites owned by Canon India.
30. Any dispute arising out of this photo contest shall be subject to Indian Laws and the courts of Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction over the matters arising out of this photo contest.
