Celebration of National Education Day NED 2015 Online Registration:
The Board commemorates the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter, eminent scholar and the first education minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on November 11 by recalling his contribution to the cause of education. National Education Day of India is celebrated every year on 11th November.

On National Education Day, schools affiliated to Board organize seminars, symposium, essay writing, elocution competitions, workshops and rallies on the importance of literacy and nation’s commitment to all aspects of education.
Schools also organize sustainable long term programmes to promote skill building among students. Community Outreach, Entrepreneurial Projects, Vocational skills, Life Skills and Industry based projects are also being integrated into the school curriculum. There is a distinct paradigm shift emerging in the education sector of new India.
In tune with the need of the hour, this year’s theme of NED celebration 2015 is- ‘Skill-Awareness and Empowerment’
The Objective:
The celebration of National Education Day across the CBSE schools this year aims to ensure that students
** are exposed to a number of projects.
** strengthen their sustainability in their existing environment.
** enhance their thinking, social and emotional skills.
** become self-motivated learners.
** get equipped with vocational skills.
** become part of new generation learners who focus on Sustainable Life skills.
** make a positive impact on society.
Participants :
One teacher and one student nominated by the school who have been consistently and extensively involved in projects related to building of sustainable skills within the system and in enhancing skills in the community around them. The teacher should have worked for at least two years on the project and the student for at least one year. The student should be in class VI or above.

Procedure:
1. Registration by the school through the CBSE website www.cbseacademic.in on or before 6th November, 2015. The registration can be done online or a copy of the downloaded form can be emailed to eo_ss@cbseacademic.in together with Annexures A and B. Each school needs to send a processing fee of Rs. 500/- (Five hundred only per school) in the form of a DD favouring ‘The Secretary CBSE’ along with registration form.
2. Two teams (a student and a teacher in each team) will be selected from each CBSE region by distinguished panelists on the basis of the details filled in the questionnaire and the digital evidences.
3. The shortlisted teams will be invited to Delhi in the first week of December, 2015 for the Final Round of interactions/presentations with eminent panelists.
4. The Final Round will consist of a four minute presentation on the work done by the participants and interaction with the judges.
5. The teams will be awarded for their contribution to the Society, with Certificates to the participants and Cash awards to the school to motivate them to continue with the exemplary work.
6. The invited schools will be given travelling allowance of 2nd class sleeper fare for the teacher and the student from their place of boarding to Delhi (to and fro). The participants will have to make their own stay arrangements in Delhi.
