Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to introduce an Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) Smartcard which can be used across all public transport systems in MMR.

Currently Mumbai has 14 different Public Transport Operators- like Suburban Railways, BEST, Metro, Monorail, NMMT- each with their own ticketing system. Passengers have to buy separate ticket for each operator, stand in long queues to buy tickets, recharge smartcards and get refunds.
The proposed system will reduce the ticketing queues, make it easier for customers to purchase tickets and use across all the modes as well as stay connected with the transport services through a common facility mobile app
Terms and Conditions
** The Contest is open to all Indians from India or abroad.
** Only one entry per category shall be permitted per individual.
** The participant will have to give Smartcard design along with Logo & Name; with option for MMRDA to choose from any of the 3 aspects.
** All entries must be submitted to the creative corner of mygov.in.
** Entries submitted through any other medium/ mode will not be considered for evaluation.
** All winning entries including design of logo(s), Smartcard design and the Brand Name will be the intellectual property of MMRDA.
** The winner(s) cannot exercise any right over it, after the acceptance of the prize.
** MMRDA will have unfettered right to modify the prize winning designs and add or delete any information or design feature in any form to it.
** Plagiarism of any nature would not be accepted or allowed. Such entries will be rejected outrightly.
** The logo design must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
** Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the competition.
Design Guidelines
** Participants should upload the designs in JPEG/ JPG/ PNG/ SVG/PDF format only.
** The designs should be designed on a digital platform.
** The winners of the competition shall be required to submit the design in an editable and open file format.
** Participants should ensure that original designs are submitted.
** The designs should be in high resolution with minimum 300 DPI.
** Smartcard dimensions are expected to be 85mm x 55mm. Smartcard will have provision to prominently display the ITS Logo, Bank Logo and Scheme Logo (eg. Rupay).
Evaluation Criteria
** All the entries received by MMRDA would be scrutinized for awards by the Steering Committee.
** Entries would be judged on the basis of elements of creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, simplicity, artistic merit and visual impact and how well they communicate the theme of MMRDA.
** The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the contestants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants or on any decision of the Selection Committee.
** Any legal proceedings arising out of the competition/ its entries/ winners shall be subject to local jurisdiction of Maharashtra State only.
Prize
Rs. 25,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) for the winner, in each category, and Rs. 15,000 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) for the runner-up in each category.
ITS Brand Categories
i. Name of Mumbai ITS Card: This will be the brand name of ITS in Mumbai. Like many cities in India have branded smartcards – e.g. Kochi 1 in Kochi, Janmarg Card in Ahmedabad, Maha Card in Nagpur, MMRDA seeks to identify a ITS Brand which will become the symbol of integrated transport and ticketing in Mumbai.
ii. Logo for Mumbai ITS System: The Logo will serve as the symbol of Mumbai transport services and the design of the Smart Card will be adopted for printing new smartcard for common mobility facilities.
iii. Design for overall Smartcard assimilating the above: Smartcard design means how the smartcard will look like. It is envisaged that the design will reflect the spirit of Mumbai and its transportation.
