Great Lakes CREST Optimax Competition

Operations management is that part of an organization, which is concerned with the transformation of a range of inputs into an optimal output having a requisite quality level.

Gone are those days…. Now optimal is a common thing to do… Let’s augment our problem solving abilities and find Opti-Max solutions…..

So here we bring an opportunity for students across various B-Schools in India to bring out solutions and suggestions which are Optimax for real-time industry problems and help them achieve operational excellence.

Rounds

The Event will be conducted in 2 Rounds.

Round 1:
Round 1 will be a Quiz Based Elimination Round with Special Focus on Supply Chain and Operation related questions. There will be 30 questions and the time limit will be 30 minutes. The online quiz will be conducted on 2nd February at 10:00 PM.

Round 2:
Round 2 will be an On-Campus Round which will be conducted on 15th February 2018 at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon. The round will be held for the candidates who will be shortlisted in Round 1.

A Case study based on real-time industry problem will be provided to the shortlisted teams on 3rd February prior to the event and they need to submit the presentation on it by 6th February’2018, 11:59 PM.

Teams have to present their case in front of the judges on campus. The teams will be asked to justify/explain their answers to the judges regarding the presentation as part of the evaluation process.

Duration of Final Presentation: 15 Minutes/Team

Rules & Guidelines

** The competition is open to all B-school participants
** Teams must be composed of 2-3 members
** Participants in a team should be from the same institute and no participant can be a part of more than one team
** Multiple teams can participate from a B-school
** No changes in team composition are allowed after registration
** The participants are expected to carry their laptops with MS Office installed, Internet connectivity, flash drive and calculators
** Teams can comprise of members from same college
** The registrations will close on 30th January, sharp at 11:59 PM . The registered members will be sent a link to the quiz by 2nd February 10:00 PM. (30 mins/30 questions)
** 10 teams will be shortlisted and will be intimated by mail by 3rd February, 2018 by 01:00 PM. They will also be sent a case for analysis.
** All the 10 teams have to submit their analysis of the case online by 6th February, 2018 by 11:59 PM.
** Top 5 teams will be shortlisted and intimated by mail by 7th February, 2018, 11:59 PM.
** Participants are requested to adhere to the timing specified for each event.
** Judges decision will be final and binding.
** Use of dishonest means will lead to immediate disqualification
