a) Junior Spell Bee ( 7 to 10 years)
b) Senior Spell Bee ( 11 to 14 years)

Spell Bee Instructions – Rules and Conditions:

General Instructions:
** Please carry exam pad (writing board), pencil and an eraser
** Please reach the venue on the reporting time and consult the registration desk at the entrance
** Accent used in Spell bee- Neutral. The pronouncer will pronounce the words 2 times at least, for better understanding

Mode of Semi Finals:
** Duration 25 min and 50 words (1 word in 30 sec)
** Time Bound dictation round
** For every 1 mistake, there is a penalty of .25 (i.e. 1 mark will be deducted for every 4 mistakes)
** No negative marking for the questions or words which are unanswered

Mode of Grand Finale – Junior Spell Bee:
** Top 20 will be tested via a written round followed by a Oral Round
** For every 1 mistake, there is a penalty of .25 (i.e. 1 mark will be deducted for every 4 mistakes)
** The above will be from the word list that was issued earlier
** In case of a tie, referee can proceed to conduct extended oral rounds on the spellings
** In case if the tie continues, previous scores of the finalists (scores of their’s in Prelims and Semi- Final rounds) shall be considered to break the tie and declare the final winners (sum of all the scores of the contestant – prelims, semi-finals and Grand Finale)
** The decision of the Judge is considered final
