41th Cultural Competition 2015:

Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong as a part of its social responsibility has endeavoured to hone the budding talents of the region by providing them a platform to showcase their potential through various activities, especially by organising various competitions etc. every year since last four decades.

Annual Cultural Competition conducted by Ramakrishna Mission Shillong is an event that brings together all schools and colleges believe in the fact that education is the manifestation of all the potential of a man, academic and cultural to a single platform. It makes the children of various institutes to come out from the tiny comfort zones of their own surroundings to smile upon a bigger world with their talents.

Competitions are held under the categories Sit & Draw, Recitation in various languages, Essay writing, Elocution, Quiz competition, Debate.

Cultural Competition originally organised at the main centre Laitumkhrah, used to be a combined event with the Durga Puja Celebrations. But the increasing number and the changed academic sessions mad it difficult to manage both Puja and competitions simultaneously.

Hence the cultural competitions were decided to be held as a separate event during the month of July every year.

Also as a new chapter in the form of Vivekananda Cultural Centre was added to the history of Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong; the venue of the competitions too was shifted from the year 2005 to a place which was sanctified by the holy footsteps of Swami Vivekananda.

We are deeply indebted to you and all our other friends for the kind co-operation and sharing the responsibility in motivating our future generation for bringing out their best.
