All India Poster Competition 2015:
Indian Dental Association is proud to announce the launch of the “ALL INDIA POSTER COMPETITION”, an initiative in collaboration with Colgate and the Future Dental Professionals Programme, to provide a platform and encourage students to present their original ideas, research and views on a national level.
Registration Last Date : 25th August, 2015
It provides the budding dental professionals a unique opportunity to :
** Showcase their knowledge and real-time work at a National level
** Engage, interact and network with dental students from across India
** Visit FDI AWDC 2016 and get a chance to present their work at an international platform.
Objective :
Through the All India Poster Competition, the main aim of IDA and Colgate is to engage dental students from across India and provide them an opportunity to showcase and enhance their knowledge on a national platform.
The objective of the All India Poster Competition is to provide the budding dental professionals of the country a platform:
** To present scientific papers in a creative and abstract way for better understanding.
** To demonstrate poise and mental agility before peers.
** To develop skills in effective communication for dissemination of research information.
** To gain experience in creative presentation of scientific papers.
** To display their scientific contributions with visual clarity.
** To be recognized and receive appreciation at a national level.
General Rules:
Abstract shall not be longer than 250 words.
** Abstract title must be less than 10 words and express the researches essence.
** No tables, charts or graphics shall be included in the abstracts.
** Abstract body shall not include any indication of the personal details of authors.
** Avoid reference to institution names, locations, or funding sources in the abstract.
** Only the author is allowed to present his/her abstract at the conference.
** Maximum of two co-authors are allowed per abstract.
** Co-author will not be entitled to any certificate or prize.
** Only One submission per author is permitted for the competition.
** Abstract (except for case reports) shall include the sections: Aim or purpose, Materials and Methods, Results and Conclusions.
** Do not submit on-going studies, or abstract with incomplete result or conclusion.
** Abstracts will be rejected if the above rules are not meet.

Aim or purpose :
In one brief sentence, provide the rational for the investigation and/or the question to be answered.
Materials and methods :
The experimental conditions should be reported briefly (i.e. age group, nature of the animals, sex, and approval from the Ethics Committee at the presenter’s institution). The clinical approach should be precise, and the period of time studied taken into account in the interpretation. The methods used should also be clearly indicated (i.e. image analysis, biochemical data, histological, immunohistological or molecular probes used for the analysis of the data, statistical significance).
Results :
The results should be stated in a maximum of three sentences.
Conclusions :
This is any conclusion(s) that can be drawn from the presentation. This final statement is crucial because it supports the scientific value of the Paper.
Abstracts of the unfinished researches will not be evaluated.
No tables, charts or graphics shall be included in the abstracts.
Abstracts shouldn’t be prepared like a presentation type which has already submitted.
The abstract should not been submitted and accepted at another national or international scientific meeting.
Evaluation Criteria :
The evaluation by the reviewers is based on;
** Scientific or Clinical interest in the question to be assessed
** Sufficient data provided
** Innovation
** Clinical impact
Announcement :
Abstract acceptance letters will be sent by e-mails and also displayed in ‘my message’ section of their abstract account.
Abstract acceptance letters will be sent to the submitting authors contact e-mail address in the system.
Author can track the status of their abstract by logging in your abstract account.
All the notifications will also be displayed in ‘My message’ in your abstract account.
Certificate of Participation :
Certificate of participation will be awarded to author
Process:
Registration Process:
** Participants have to register on the online portal.
** Participants can submit their Abstract with the title according to the guidelines of IDA.
** Upon successful acceptance of Abstract, Participant (Non IDA Member) has to become IDA member before e-poster submission. “Failing to which, participant will be disqualified from AIPC”.
Categories:
The All India Poster Competition is open for all dental students of recognized dental colleges in India.
Dental students can apply under any one of the following categories :
** Group 1
** Undergraduate dental students (including interns)
** Group 2
** Post- graduate dental students
Phase Level Competition:
Phase 1:
** Phase 1 will be conducted at the World Dental Show this year.
** The abstract submission for Phase 1 is now open.
** Participants get a registration period till 25th August to submit their Abstract for AIPC.
** After which within 15 days the shortlisted participants list will be announced for the presentation at the Phase 1 of AIPC. (i.e. till 10th Sep )
** A non IDA member should become IDA member once he is shortlisted in order to proceed with the competition.
** The shortlisted participants need to submit their e-Posters within 20 days after the Final shortlisted participants list is announced. (i.e. till 30th September )
** The Shortlisted Participants should be ready with their presentation for the Phase 1 with the Speaker/Author.
** Phase 1 will be conducted for 3 consecutive days. Participant needs to be present at the assigned slot for the Presentation. (16th, 17th and 18th )
** The winners of Phase 1 will be announced on the 3rd day of the competition. (18th October )
** The Phase Level winners will be called at the Indian Dental Conference for the final round of competition.
Phase 2:
** Phase 2 will be conducted at the Indian Dental Conference 2016 New Delhi.
** The registration for Phase 2 will start on 19th of October after the end of Phase 1 at the World Dental Show 2015.
** Participants get 70 days of registration period to submit their Abstract for AIPC. (i.e. 1st January )
** After which within 15 days the shortlisted participants list will be announced for the presentation at the Phase 2 of AIPC. (i.e. 16th January )
** A non IDA member should become IDA member once he is shortlisted in order to proceed with the competition.
** The shortlisted participants need to submit their e-Posters within 20 days after the Final shortlisted participants are announced. (i.e. 5th February )
** The Shortlisted Participants should be ready with their presentation for the Phase 2 with the Speaker/Author.
** Phase 2 will be conducted for 2 consecutive days. Participant needs to be present at the assigned slot for the Presentation. (18th Feb (Pre-IDC) & 19th Feb )
** The winners of Phase 2 will be announced on the 2nd day of the competition. (19th Feb )
** The Phase Level winners will be called at the Indian Dental Conference for the final round of competition. (21st Feb)
** On the last day of IDC, winners of AIPC will be announced.
