YES! i am the CHANGE is a nationwide mindset transformation program to inculcate the spirit of responsible youth citizenship and drive positive social action through the impactful medium of films.

YES FOUNDATION provides Youth and NGOs with a platform to use films as a storytelling medium to drive social impact. Towards this, we invite Youth, Filmmakers, NGOs and Social Enterprises to participate in YIAC Social Filmmaking Challenge to depict stories of change of NGOs, Social Enterprises and Everyday Heroes.

Winning film entries will be awarded cash prizes. Also, NGOs and Social Enterprises with sustainable and scalable social projects shortlisted from the film entries will be eligible to win grants worth INR 7.5 crore along with capacity building and mentoring support for 3 years.

Eligibility

** Open challenge is open to any individual aged 18 years and above to participate in their individual capacity and not as a representative of any organisation
** NGO/Social Enterprise challenge is for individuals registering as participants representing their organisations
** To represent an organization participants have to be a registered employee and/or bona fide member of the organisation
** All participants must be legal citizens of India
** All NGOs and Social Enterprises represented in the challenge must be registered legal entities in India
** Only registered NGOs/Social Enterprises (Public Charitable Trusts & Societies, Section 8 companies and Pvt. Ltd. companies) with social projects/products/services shortlisted from the YIAC film entries will be eligible to win grants.

Production

** Film entries may include moving images (clips) static pictures (images) dialogue and voiceover, music, text, titles and graphics
** An existing film cannot be submitted as an entry
** However, pre-existing/shot earlier footages can be used with proper acknowledgement as reference components in the films
** In case of usage of still photographs from NGOs/organisations necessary approvals must be secured by the participants
** Animation/special effects are allowed only if they have been created during the allotted film project duration
** Do not use any copy righted intellectual property (audio, music, video, still images etc.) that infringes the rights of the owner or breaches permissible limits

Film Format

Film format must have :
** Start plate and End plate provided by YES FOUNDATION at the beginning and end of the film
** 5 seconds of black before title
** Title of the film
** Name of the NGO/Social Enterprise/Everyday Hero/Subject the film is based on
** Name of city
** Final film
** Credits for any additional images, graphics or material you might want to add to enhance your film, kindly use royalty free content
** The video can include moving images (clips) static pictures (images) dialogue and voiceover, music, text, titles and graphics

Non-Eligible Film Formats :
** Powerpoint presentations – comprising only of images and text
** Films comprising entirely of a single-person’s testimonial (selfie/portrait video)
** Films that do not cover the theme or topic
** Films submitted in any form in earlier editions
** Films completed prior to the launch of YIAC

Process

Before you begin :
** Familiarise yourself with the challenge and its rules
** Fill out the online registration form before the last date – please note you have to register on or before March 10, 2018
** After completion of the registration process, you will be notified about the next steps via email
** If you do not receive the registration acknowledgement email, do check the spam folder in your mailbox
** Challenge starts on January 12, 2018
** Challenge closes/ last date of film submission on March 10, 2018

Registration

** Registration has to be completed online
** All registered teams shall be assigned a registration code / password
** Username of participants would be their registered email ids
** Team leaders can edit their team information (add/remove team members, modify contact information etc.) using the username and password
** Upon registering you will receive a confirmation email. You have to make a film between January 12 – March 10, 2018
** You will have to script, shoot, edit and upload your film at the YES FOUNDATION website

Topics:
** You can make a film on an NGO, a Social Enterprise or an Everyday Hero of your choice
** The film should represent their real life work and should be aligned with Sustainable Development Goals

Submission of Entries

** Upload your film (with Start and End Plates) on your YouTube channel
** Go to the YES FOUNDATION website home page and click on Register Now > Existing User Login
** Enter your registered email id and challenge code
** Add team member details (if applicable)
** Select the topic/Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on which you have made your film
** Copy and paste the YouTube URL of your film on the specified field
** Click on SUBMIT
