YIFF 2016 Yashwant International Film Festival ‘Changing Maharashtra’ Short Film Competition:

Maximum 20 distinguished films by cinematic, thematic and aesthetic, excellence will be short listed in accordance with the conditions and procedure laid down below and then 3 out of these 20 will be selected for Awards.

Aim:

The theme of competition is CHANGING MAHARASHTRA. Over the years Maharashtra has changed tremendously. We would like the budding young filmmakers to capture the essence of the changes over the years.

Eligibility Conditions:

1. Film for the competition must be a short film [ Fiction/ Animation/Live Action/ Documentary]
2. Dubbed/ remade versions are not eligible for entry.
3. Film can be made in any language. All entries must have English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without English subtitles are not eligible.
4. In case any of the requirements mentioned in this part of the regulations is not completed by the applicant, the entry is liable to be rejected summarily.

Rules & Regulations:

Duration:
Films must be not more than 5 minutes in length (opening and closing credits included).

Entry Fee:
There is NO ENTRY FEE for this competition.

Last Date:
The closing date for receipt of entries is December 20th, 2015. Films produced after October 17th, 2015 will be accepted. The entries should reach the designated address on or before the specified date. Proof of postage before the specified final date will not be considered for films that reach late. The onus of obtaining a proof-of-delivery for managing disputes rests with the entrant

Student Eligibility:
In order to submit your film to Y)FF?? the applicant must be a registered student [open to Graduate students and post graduate students only]. He / she must send a copy of current Student ID card or proof of student status in Maharashtra. He / she must be 18 years or above as on 17th October 2015.

Film Eligibility:
** Film must not contain any content that would be considered pornographic. Entries that contain material of an explicit sexual or violent nature, or anything defamatory or likely to incite bigotry or communal prejudice, will be rejected.
** Films that have received television (including cable) connected to internet (you tube, face book, wats app) or commercial theatrical play out in India prior to the submission are NOT eligible.

** The organizers of YIFF/PFF do not assume any responsibility for any violation of intellectual property by any entrant. Entries must be original content recorded by the applicant. Entrants must ensure that they own or have obtained all licenses and copy right to allow the film to be screened in public across a variety of different media including broadcast, cinema, web and wireless. Permission letters & licenses may be demanded if needed. Any music that is used in the film must be either originally composed, royalty free or have necessary permission of the owner of the content in writing to use the same.
** All costs of production of the film (including talent, editing, etc) and all shipping fees will be borne by the entrant.

Submission Guidelines:

** Material for viewing must be sent on a DVD of good quality. It should be labeled with title runningtime, screening format and contact information (name, email, address and phone number of applicant).
** DVD will not be returnedDo not send your master copy until you are notified
** Entries must include a fully completed signed and dated registration form. If there is more than one producer or director of the film, then the form must include the details and signatures of every producer & every director.
** All filmmakers will be notified via email telephone only (ence please ensure that an accurate email id and telephone number are indicated. Please provide at least 1 alternate email id & telephone number to avoid any problems.
** YIFF/PFF may retain the DVD as part of the festival library for publicizing the festival and for educational purposes. No commercial exploitation of the content will be undertaken by YIFF/PFF
