Competition Categories
Four competitions are being conducted by PCRA
For Schools Only :
1) Essay
2) Painting
3) Quiz for selecting School team and thereafter District, State and Zonal teams. Zonal teams shall participate in National Finals.
For Individual Only :
Individual Quiz for achieving Bronze, Silver or Gold Level, in which children in prescribed age group can participate.

Competition Instructions
Essay Competition
1. Only those schools in India which are recognized by Central & State Boards, can participate.
2. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competition in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (maximum number of) students take part in this competition , as this is in National interest.
3. Schools to conduct Essay competition in one or more of the following languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujara , Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo and Santhali.
4. Eligibility: Students of classes 7, 8, 9 & 10.
5. One student can participate in only one language.
6. Essay should not exceed 700 words.
7. Student must submit essay in his/her own handwriting.
8. Topic: Save Fuel for better environment
9. Time Limit: 1 Hour
10. School is required to evaluate the entries, and upload Best two entries in each language, in which the competition has been conducted at the school, on www.pcracompetitions.org. 11. Competition Period: 01.07.2019 to 30.09.2019. Last entry on or before 30.09.2019.
12. The topic of the essay competition may be displayed prominently, at least a week in advance. School to advise students to prepare in advance for the scheduled competition.
Participation Process :
Painting Competition
1. Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can participate.
2. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competition in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (or maximum number of) students take part in this competition, as this is in National interest.
3. Eligibility:
Two categories:
Students of classes 5, 6 & 7 (Junior)
Students of classes 8, 9 & 10 (Senior)
4. School to conduct competitions in any one or both the categories.
5. Use only A3 size art sheet. The work may be executed using pencils, pencil colours, crayons, water colours etc.

7. Time Limit: 2 Hours
8. School is required to evaluate the entries for each category, and upload Best two entries in each category (Junior/Senior), in which the competition has been conducted at the school, on www.pcracompetitions.org. 11. The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 pain ngs in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi. PCRA shall bear the expenses of travel, and the best 100 in each category shall be advised on the same
Participation Process :
School Quiz Competition
1. Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can participate.
2. This competition shall be conducted only online through web portal www.pcracompetitions.org upto State Level, and on ground activation there after.
3. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competitions in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (maximum number of) students take the online quiz, as it will add to their knowledge and is in National interest.
4. Eligibility: Students of classes 8, 9 & 10.
5. Questions shall pertain to Fuel Conservation, Environment, General Studies etc.
6. The schools shall register the names of all Students against the school ID on the portal www.pcracompetitions.org. All the students can then participate as Individuals in First Round. Each student shall be given a me limit of 10 minutes to attempt the quiz of 10 questions.
7. So ware will select the two best scoring participants, who will form the School team.
8. The School team (two best scoring participants) shall then participate in the second round or District level round, by logging in the portal, in school premises itself. This round will have 15 questions with a me limit of 10 minutes. The last date for participating at District level is 30th Sept. 2019.
9. The best school team (winner) at District level shall be informed by email by PCRA. This team shall participate in third round by logging in the portal, in school premises itself, to compete for becoming State Level Winners. This round will have 30 questions with a me limit of 15 minutes
10. Competition Period:01.07.2019 to 30.09.19 for online Quiz competition upto District level only
Participation Process :
Individual Quiz Competition
1. This competition shall be conducted online only through web portal www.pcracompetitions.org and mobile applica on PCRA-competitions Available on Android/Windows/IOS Platform.
2. Student to register online and upload scan copy or photo of I-card of school / certificate of Principal / Aadhar Card / Class 10th Certificate. An activation link will be sent to his/her email ID for participation
3. Eligibility: Students of age 13-17 years (students born on or a er 01.04.2002 and on or before 31.03.2007)
4. Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy & Fuel, Transport, General Studies and other categories.
5. Competition Period: 1.07.19 – 15.01.20
6. First Level Quiz will have 10 questions with a me limit of 10 minutes. If the child answers 6 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Bronze Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. The second window shall open on qualifying the first level.
7. Second Level Quiz will have 15 questions with a me limit of 10 minutes. If the child answers 10 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Silver Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. He/she becomes eligible for Final level.
8. Final Level Quiz will have 30 questions with a me limit of 15 minutes. If the child answers 25 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Gold Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID and can be downloaded from the portal itself

Important Guidelines
** The decision of the Jury/Expert committee will be final.
** The Essay and Painting entries would be the sole property of PCRA. PCRA shall have the sole right to use it for any purpose it deems fit.
** Children of employees of PCRA are not eligible for the prizes.
** In case the participation in a particular language is very low, PCRA will get the prize winning entries evaluated by an expert jury.
** If the best entries do not conform to the general standard of entries in other languages, PCRA reserves its right to rationalize the prizes for that particular language.
** The decision of PCRA in this regard will be final and binding.
** Schools should try to hold the competition as early as possible to avoid last minute rush in submission.
** The final results shall be announced in December 2019. The awards will be distributed during the Saksham month period 16.01.20 to 15.02.20.
