World Disability Day Competitions 2015 :
The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3.

The observance of the Day aims to promote anunderstanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Theme :
The theme of ‘World Disability Day’- for this year is ‘Inclusion matters: access and empowerment of people of all abilities’.
The aim of observing World Disability day at school is to motivate and engage students from school age to develop an empathetic understanding towards day to day challenges faced by children with disability in their personal social academic and recreational aspects of life.
Therefore, the Board desires that the schools may organize various activities during World Disability Day on 3rd December reflecting the aforementioned theme.
Activities :
For Classes VI to VIII:
** Slogan writing on ‘Prevention of Discrimination – Equitable Opportunities’
** Poster making on ‘Empowerment for Person with Disability’
For classes IX – X:
** Elocution on ‘Human Rights and Disability’
** Street play on ‘Participation of Persons with Disability in building a nation’
For classes XI – XII:
** Debate on ‘Inclusion vs Marginalization’
** Essay writing ‘Disability Provisions in India’
Submission Procedure :
The above mentioned activities may be conducted in the school to create awareness about the role of Inclusive education in reducing discrimination and providing equitable opportunity and access for all. The report of activities, feedback in 200 words including one photograph on the activities under taken by the school may be sent to Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain, Joint Director, CBSE, at inclusion.cbse@gmail.com
