Contest Description
Welcome Geeks,
This is a hiring challenge to test your knowledge in Data Structures and Algorithms.
** There will be 3 Programming Questions based on Data Structures and Algorithms.
** Contest duration is 1 hour, you are expected to solve all 3 problems within this duration.
** You are allowed to submit codes in programming languages: C++, Java, Python
Available Roles : SDE
Educational Qualification : Bachelors/ Masters degree in Computer Science
Experience Required : 1-3 Years
Instructions & Prizes
** Languages supported for the contest are: C++, Java, Python.
** Each submission will be tested based on our critical test data.
** There is 5% penalty for each wrong submission. For example, if a problem is of 100 marks and a participant makes a wrong submission, his marks are reduced to 95.
After the next wrong submission of the same problem, his marks are further reduced to 90.25 and so on. Therefore, it is suggested to use ‘Compile & Test’ against sample test cases before each submission.
** Each question has hints that you may use when you’re stuck on a problem. Marks are deducted on hints usage.
** Please refrain from discussing strategy during the contest. All submissions are run through a plagiarism detector. Any case of code plagiarism will reduce the score of the concerned participants to 0.
** Make sure other participants don’t have access to your code. In case you are using any other online coding environment, you are responsible for the privacy of your code.
** It is advised to attempt the Sample Geeks Challenge to get familiar with the GeeksforGeeks coding environment
FAQs
1) How should I begin using GeeksforGeeks Practice, I am new to coding?
Step 1 :
Begin with solving the Basic Problems like arrays, strings and subsequently continue to easy, medium and hard levels. If you feel that you are unable to solve them, look at the editorials available.
Or you may begin with learning concepts first. Refer to basic tutorials like C, Data Structures, Algorithms for learning concepts and begin practicing coding problems thereafter.
You may also use our IDE in case you do not wish to track your progress as of now.
Step 2 :
Once you are through with the basic problems, move onto the Easy level. If at any point of time you feel that you are not able to solve the problems , please refer editorials.
2) How do I track which problems I’ve solved till now?
You can practice as many problems as you want without creating a login. But, if you wish to track your progress and rank amongst other programmers, you will have to login or register.
3) What happens if I click on Editorial section?
You will be redirected to the detailed explanation and solution to the given problem. Click on Editorial only if you are not able to solve the problem on your own.
