What is Esri India ArcGIS StoryMaps Contest?
ArcGIS StoryMaps Contest is organized by Esri India. The Esri India ArcGIS StoryMap Competition aims to inspire and empower individuals and teams to harness the power of geographic information and storytelling to address critical issues, foster creativity, and share compelling narratives about India’s diverse and dynamic landscape. This competition serves as a platform for participants to demonstrate their ability to convey complex spatial information in an engaging and informative way using Esri’s StoryMaps technology. The submission deadline is February 09, 2024.

Themes of Esri India ArcGIS StoryMaps Contest
1 Sustainable Cities :
Explore the challenges and opportunities in building sustainable, smart, and resilient cities in India. Participants can focus on urban planning, transportation, waste management, or innovative solutions for urban development.
2 Environmental Conservation :
Highlight the natural beauty and environmental conservation efforts in India. Stories may encompass topics like biodiversity, conservation initiatives, climate change impacts, or sustainable agriculture.
3 Social Impact:
Showcase the human stories that reflect the positive impact of GIS and location-based solutions on communities and society at large. This could include topics like healthcare access, education, disaster response, or public service improvement.

Students (School and College level): Open to students in Indian schools and colleges to encourage young minds to explore the power of GIS and storytelling.
Professionals: Geared towards GIS professionals, data analysts, researchers, and individuals working in GIS-related fields.
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Government Bodies: Designed for organizations working in the public or non-profit sector to showcase their initiatives and projects.

Stories created using ArcGIS StoryMaps combine one or more web maps with narrative text, great images, and multimedia content to tell stories about neighborhoods, communities, nations, and the world using the common visual language of geography. StoryMaps users create approximately 2,000 narrative maps each day.

Evaluation Criteria of Esri India ArcGIS StoryMaps Contest
i) Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:
** Relevance to the chosen theme.
** Clarity and creativity in storytelling.
** Visual and multimedia elements.
** Overall impact and engagement.
ii) The top StoryMaps will be featured on the Esri India website and showcased at Esri India events.
Prizes of Esri India ArcGIS StoryMaps Contest
Two winners in each category will be awarded individual vouchers worth INR 5000/-
