Details :
** MATS Law School, MATS University is pleased to announce the annual, 3rd Shri Mangi Lal Pagariya Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2015 over the weekend of Friday, September 18, 2015 through Sunday, September 20, 2015.
** The competition is open to all law schools accredited by the Bar Council of India and also to the recognised law schools abroad.
** The objective of this competition is to introduce law students to important issues arising in Intellectual Property Rights Litigation.
** Law students who participate in the competition will have an opportunity to develop their skills of brief writing and oral advocacy skills in a moot courtroom experience.
** The moot competition celebrates the creativity, innovation and traditional knowledge from the state of Chhattisgarh.
** The state is known for many kinds of mechanical and herbal traditional knowledge.

** Best Team INR 10,000/-
** Runners up Team INR 8,000/-
** Best Memorial INR 4,000/-
** Best Speaker INR 4,000/-

Rules :
1.“Committee” means MOOT COURT COMMITTEE, MATS LAW SCHOOL as constituted by the Director, MATS Law School each year.
2.“Case clarification” (hereinafter referred to as “clarification”) means the official clarification and correction as published on the official website of the competition committee.
3.“Competition” means MLS National Moot Court Competition.
4.“Competition Rules” means the official rules of the competition as amended from time to time.
5.“Appellant” means that side of the team which argues on behalf of the Appellant at any given point in the competition.
6.“IST” means Indian Standard Time.
7.“Moot Proposition” means Statement of Facts released by the committee.
8.“Participant” means any member of the team participating in the MLS National Moot Court Competition.
9.“Rebuttals” refer to the set of arguments that the appellant shall raise at the end of the main pleadings of the Orators. This shall be replied to in the appropriate manner by the Respondent.
10.“Respondent” means that side of the team which argues on behalf of the respondent, at any given point of the Competition.
11.“Written Submission” means the memorials submitted by any team.

Venue, Date And Subject : Matter Of The Competition
** The MLS National Moot Court Competition shall be held on 18th to 20th September, 2015 at MATS Law School, MATS University, Arang Campus, Raipur, and Chhattisgarh, India. Dispute, if any, shall be decided by the Director, MATS Law School which shall be final.

Eligibility For Participation :
1.Students pursuing three or five year courses of LL.B. from any recognized law school/college/university in India or abroad.
2.Any recognized law school/college/university shall be entitled to send only one team to the competition.
3.Only 20 teams shall be allowed to participate in the Competition on first come first serve basis.

Team Composition :
1.Each team shall consist of minimum of 2 and maximum 3 members. This number cannot be altered under any circumstances.
2.Each team shall include two speakers, who may be accompanied by one researcher, all of whom shall have to be accordingly designated during the registration process. Each team shall have a team code and each member shall be given an individual code. The team code shall be sent to the teams through e-mails. The respective team codes have to be mentioned in the top right corner of the cover page of the Written Submissions.
3.Only those teams that send the Memorial and Counter-Memorial as per details given in notification shall be allowed to participate in the competition.
4.In case of contingency the researcher may substitute the speaker only with prior permission of the Director, MATS Law School.
