What is NIDM Short Film Contest?
Short Film Contest 2024 is organized by National Institute of Disaster Management NIDM. The competition aims to inculcate the spirit of creativity and innovation to students of higher education and ignite and inspire the students of colleges/Universities to innovate and protect themselves from the risk of disaster. Last Date of Contest is 15th September 2024.

Entries for two month window period (10th July to 15th September, 2024) is open for submission of videos/short film on the following topics and areas:
i. Earthquake DOs & DON’Ts

Who can Apply for Short Film Contest?
Category 1: Faculty/students (individual or group) from any recognised university/institution
Category 2: Any ministry/related departments/Govt. organisations/CSR foundations /NGOs
How to Submit for Short Film Contest?
The participants may share their film or video in a downloadable format or via a Google Drive link, along with a brief profile of themselves and their organization, to iuindrr.nidm[AT]mha.gov.in or speed post DVD/Pen drive to below mentioned address:

Duration: The short film, with a maximum length of 5-7 minutes, are expected to showcase awareness generation on any above mentioned theme related to disaster management.
Conditions and format of film:
The following conditions should be noted-
** The maximum duration of the films should be 5-7 minutes;
** The submissions may be made in acceptable formats such as WMV, MP4, MKV, AVI, etc.;
** Submissions should be made in Standard Definition from 480P onwards.
Selection Process of Short Film Contest
The jury constituted by NIDM will select the winner on the basis of novelty and usefulness of the video for preparedness and awareness generation for DRR. The video must be original and not previously submitted or showcase elsewhere.
Prizes of Short Film Contest
Category 1:
1st entry: Rs.2 lakh
2nd entry: Rs.1.5 lakh
3rd entry: Rs.1 Lakh
Category 2:
** Certificate and recognition at national platform
** Utilisation of winning video/film for awareness generation programmes on logo-sharing basis
