State Level Project Competition:
Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Technology launched the “ThinkQuest” competition in the year 2002, to provide a highly motivating opportunity for students and educators to work collectivlely in teams to stepping into practical developmental activity which would be very useful in future to meet the expectation of industries.

ThinkQuest aims to promote this facet by inviting participants to explore topics, collectively to achieve goals and develop interesting hardware and software that add meaningful content to today’s technology to add ease & fun to the fast competitive life.
ThinkQuest competitions are in two categories:
1) ThinkQuest Hardware Challenge.
2) ThinkQuest Software Challenge.
The ThinkQuest Competition is open to all students of Polytechnics in Maharashtra. This is the Eight successive year of this venture and we have grown in stature so far experience, expertise and technicality of organizing such event is concerned. ,
The objective of this venture is to arouse the latent instinct of creativity and innovation of budding technocrats by offering them the appropriate launch pad.
Prizes:
First prize: – Rs. 11000/- & ThinkQuest Trophy
Second prize: – Rs. 6000/- & ThinkQuest Trophy
Two consolation prizes:- Rs. 3000/- each
All the participants will get participation certificate.
Entry Criteria :
** Each Institute shall enter in not more than two projects in each category.
** Teams for each project shall have a maximum of four members.
** Each team should appoint a team leader to coordinate the work and act as the spokesperson. However, each member of the team should be able to serve as the spokesperson, be fully involved with the project, and be familiar with all aspects of the project. The final work should reflect the coordinated efforts of all team members. Each team shall submit only one abstract and one set of the required documentation. Each team shall submit an application form.
** The organizers will provide a stall with sunshade, single phase 230V A.C. electrical supply up to 1 KW and table to exhibit project.
** The entries for the ThinkQuest challenge must be completed, and submitted not later than the entry Last Date.
** Students studying in Computer Engineering /Computer Technology/Information Technology/Digital Electronics/Industrial Electronics/Instrumentation/ Electronics & Telecommunication can send an entry in any section. The choice of section should be based on the fields/topics of the model and not on the discipline/branch of diploma course.
** The Embedded Projects (Software + Hardware) will only be considered for ThinkQuest Hardware challenge category.
Team Makeup and Eligibility for entry :
** In order to participate in the ThinkQuest Competition, a team of four student should be of the same institute. Each student team member must make significant contributions to the success of the team and be a full participant in the development of its project.
** Project guide may help for team formation; provide guidance and encouragement, and help students locate human, technical and information resources in support of their efforts. Project guide and others who are not student team members shall not work directly on the project. At least one team member must have fast communication address, which should be communicated.
Entry Restrictions :
A student cannot be a member of more than one ThinkQuest competition team during one contest year though he\ she may belongs to the same institute. No more than two immediate family members of a ThinkQuest Internet Challenge team may be related to each other.
Proposal Process :
There is no required sequence for this process, but each team must complete and submit its application by the application Last Date. If the proposal complies with the ThinkQuest Challenge rules, it will be approved. The team will be notified by email or other form of communication of approval as per the schedule.Once approved, the team will be given space to display and its testing on the Event day. Student may find other team members, start or join a team and choose their project topic, before the last date prescribed.

** Date of Exhibition :27th February’2016.
** Venue :BGIT Mumbai Central.
** Last date of receiving completed Entry forms:29th January’2016.
** Intimation to selected entries :** 13th February’2016.
** Reporting at the venue by all the selected teams with their models 7.30 a.m. at BGIT on 27th February’2016.
** Inaugural Function: 9.00 a.m. on 27th February’2016.
** Evaluation : 27th February ‘2016.
** Prize Distribution : 4.00 p.m. on 27th February’ 2016.
