Competitions on the occasion of International Women’s Day:

International Women’s Day, observed worldwide on 8 March each year, is a day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day calls for action, not only to sensitize ourselves and our fellow community members about gender parity, but also to accelerate it.

As an initiative towards the same, the Women Cell of IIT Jodhpur is organizing the following competitions:
(1) Slogan Writing for the Women Cell in Hindi,
(2) Logo Design for the Women Cell, and
(3) Documentary Film (Duration 5 min. approx.) on the spirit of Women Cell.

These competitions are open to the Students, Faculty Members, and Staff Members. Spouses of Faculty Members and Staff Members are also welcome to participate.

The following description will give a broad idea of the topic:
** In the current wave of women’s empowerment, how would you define the role of women in technology? Women, who continue to constitute a statistical minority in most institutes of higher learning, particularly in the fields of sciences and engineering, have nevertheless, been instrumental in pushing the frontiers of learning in those very areas.
** Can you think of a slogan and a logo which capture the presence of women in the altering landscape of Science & Technology? A catchy byword and a self-explanatory monogram for women who walk into the traditionally male-dominated hemisphere of Science & Technology?
** A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. This is an opportunity for you to make your thoughts on the topic visually long lasting impressing upon the minds of spectators through a short, yet crisp documentary film.
** Let’s come together to make a difference, and do our bit to ensure that the future for women is bright, equal, safe and rewarding!! Therefore, let your imagination run around, creative juices flow and convert your thoughts into action.
** The winners will be awarded Certificates of Appreciation and Prizes during the Celebration of International Women’s Day Function on 8 March 2016.

Event closing dates:
(1) Slogan Writing Competition closes on 22 February 2016;
(2) Logo Design Competition closes on 22 February 2016; and
(3) Documentary Film Making Competition closes on 4 March 2016.
