Chinmaya International Geeta Chanting Competition 2015 :

Chinmaya Mission Kerala will hold a Mass Geeta Chanting programme involving over Fifty thousand people, chanting the entire Geeta on 8th May 2015 from 3 PM to 6 PM, creating an aura of a mass movement and dedication to our Cultural heritage.

Aim & Objective:
To motivate Children and Adults to chant the Geeta and ultimately bring this philosophy into their lives beyond all religions.

General Information:

For the 2nd Chinmaya International Geeta Chanting Competition, Chapter XV-Purushottama yoga has been selected.

A. Categories, Age Group,Chapter and Stanzas
2nd CIGCC will be conducted for the benefit of 4 age groups

B. Levels of competition :
There will be four levels for the competition:
I Level-(Centre/City/Region-this could include city and satellite towns in the district or neighbouring dist)
II Level-(State)
III Level-(National)
IV Level-(International)

Preliminary level competitions will be conducted before the final round at the Centre/City/Regional Level.

C. Important Dates :
Last Date to Register : 3rd Aug 2015 (Monday))
Preliminary round before 20th Aug 2015 (Monday)
Level I-(Centre) before 30th Aug 2015(Sunday)
Level II (State): Before 30th Oct 2015 (Friday)
Level III-(National )-Countries outside India-Before 25th Nov 2015(Wednesday)
Level III (National) – India – On 22nd Nov 2015 (Sunday)
Level IV-(International)-on 22nd Dec 2015 (Tuesday)

The Registration fee will be INR 50 for participants from India, Nepal & Sri Lanka.

The Registration fee for other countries will be decided by the respective National Coordinators.

F. Criteria for Judgement :
Memory – 50 Marks
Pronunciation & Overall Effect – 40 Marks
Presentation -10 Marks
Total – 100 Marks
Memory -30 Marks
Pronunciation- 50 Marks
Presentation – 10 Marks
Overall Effect- 10 Marks
Total – 100 Marks

G. Definition of terms in the judgement criteria:
Memory: This is the ability of the participant, to chant the specified portion without any break, hesitation or confusion.
Pronunciation: This is the ability of the participant to chant the verses in correct pronunciation.
Presentation: Posture, confidence, mannerism, sincerity of efforts etc.
Overall Effect: Refers to the Devotional Bhava (right attitude and feeling) and impact on the listener. Tune is not a criteria for judgement.

H.Decision of the Judges will be final and no appeal Will Be Entertained At Any Level.
