Retell, Remix & Rejoice Contest :

March 20th is World Storytelling Day, an annual event that celebrates the art of spinning a really good yarn. Since 2010, World Storytelling Day has heralded the start of our annual Retell, Remix and Rejoice Contest. New to the contest? Here’s what it is in a nutshell!

Every year, we share a series of images from Pratham Books and invite our community to weave a brand new story using them! Be as wacky and creative as possible. The first-prize winner gets a printed version of their winning story. (Psst…one of our previous winning entries was scooped up by a reputed publishing house, so who knows what’s in store for you?)

If you need a little inspiration, take a look at the sample story written by our editor Mala Kumar – ‘Can You Smile When You Snore’.You can also take a look at what impressed previous judges by reading ‘Jamun Has Her Wish’, a winning entry by by Vibha Batra.

Things to remember :
** You can only create your story for the contest by clicking on the button or images below.
** For this contest, you can make a choice only from the 30 selected images below.

How to take part:
** Log in to StoryWeaver (sign up here if you don’t have an account)
** Choose from the 30 images below & create a story (NOTE : You can only use the 30 images below to create your story. There is no maximum or minimum limit on the number of images you can use from this set of images)
** Click on the ‘Participate in the contest’ button and get started! (Watch our quick video tutorial on creating stories.)
** If you want some time to finish your story, save it as a draft (find it later under your profile page).
** Finished your story? Click on ‘Submit’. Remember, once you’ve submitted your entry you won’t be able to go back and edit it, so make sure that you’re happy with your story before you submit.

Contest guidelines:
** There are two categories: Adults (over 16) and children (under 16).
** There will be one winning entry in each of these categories.
** Entries can be in English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada or Tamil.
** You are free to submit multiple stories.
** The contest Last Date is April 20th, 2016
** Results will be announced on our website, blog and social media handles on or before May 31, 2016.
