South Tamilnadu Marathon Tuticorin 2015:

An enthusiastic group of runners from the runners Family have come together to create a revolution in the Southern districts in Tamil Nadu – Tirunelveli (Nellai), Kanyakumari and Tuticorin.

Applicable Districts : Southern Districts in Tamil Nadu

A unique element in these regions is that it encompasses all five geographical traditions of Tamil Literature: kurinji (mountains), mullai (forest), marudham (paddy fields), neithal (coastal) and palai (desert). These districts are also known as the ‘’Oxford’’ of south India, thanks to the numerous educational institutions found in the region. So, what better way than to use education as the cause for the marathon?

After the successful 1st edition in Tirunelveli last year, this year will see the runners come together in the Port town of Tuticorin on 9th August 2015. Mark that date in your calendars and remember to come support the runners.

Event Information:

5 Kilometer:
For those who walk regularly, but have been curious about running, this is the perfect opportunity to get initiated into the joy of running. First-timers, walkers, young and old alike line up at the start line ready to get going. Run at your own pace alongside the lush green fields towards the finishing line.

Age: 10 years (born on or before 9th August 2004) and above

Registration Fee:Rs 400
Regular Fee:Rs 300

For Students:
Students can avail a discount of Rs100, they need to show valid ID proof at the time of Bib collection at the Expo, if unable to produce the valid ID the student will have to pay Rs 100 to collect the BIB.

10 Kilometer:
So, you have been running for a while. Time to step it up, right? This 10km run is a good way to see how far you can go. It will be an enjoyable, albeit challenging, race. There will be training programs to help you get on your way.

Age: 12 years (born on or before 9th August 2002) and above

Registration Fee:Rs 500

21 Kilometer:
Hard core runners, those who have run marathons before, and are keen to go further than they have should attempt the 21km Half Marathon. Commit yourself to a rigorous training & discipline and you will conquer the distance with ease.

Age: 14 years (born on or before 9th August 2000) and above
