Dhun A Beat For Skill Competition 2015:

This program is brought to you by Joy of Giving Global Foundation (a part of Citizens Alliance Group of Companies) in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Last Date of Online Registration shall be 25th July, 2015.

Important Dates:

** Contest shall be held on 5th September, 2015.
** Online Registration shall commence from 10th July, 2015.
** Entries can be submitted from 10th July, 2015 till 9th August, 2015
** Round 2, the finale shall be held on 5th September, 2015 at Mumbai.
** This contest is open for all residents of India who are 18 years or above.

How to Enter:

Everyone is welcome to enter the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Competition. To take part, you just need to provide the following though our website’s application form:

Enter your name, email address, and artist / band name, select the most appropriate genre.

Provide a YouTube link to the song you want to enter into the competition. (Just one track please). Ensure your track remains on YouTube for the duration of the competition. If an album or artist link is provided containing multiple tracks, the first track will the one judged by the Competition. All entries submitted must be original songs and must not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

Ensure you read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Competition outlined on this page before ticking ‘I have read and agree to the Terms & Conditions’ and submitting your application.

Rights of Admission:

If we consider your application is not suitable for the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Competition, we shall contact you to see if changes can be made to your application so that we can approve it. Otherwise, your application will be declined.

Competition Stages:

There are two Rounds to the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Competition. Everyone who enters automatically qualifies for Round 1.

Round 1:
Online Registration begins on 10th July, 2015 and Last Date of Online Registration is 25th July, 2015. Applications are invited from 10th July, 2015 till 9th August, 2015 (Last Date of submitting your entries).

The song of each applicant will be listened to by one of the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Judges who, if impressed, will give the green light for the band / artist to proceed to Round 2.

Round 2:
Round 2 shall be live events as scheduled to be held on 5th September, 2015 at Mumbai. Applicants will be sent an email to notify if you have made it into Round 2 or not. All applicants who have successfully made it through to Round 2 will be listed on the Website.

Winners:

The DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Winners will be announced after the event i.e. 5th September, 2015.

The recording session will be arranged for the First Place Winning Band, which shall be communicated to the band after the declaration of results.

The First Place Winning Band shall receive Rs. 1, 00, 000/- (ONE LAKH RUPEES) which shall be subject to Tax Deducted at Source i.e. 30% (THIRTY per cent) of the total prize money.

The Second Place Winning Band shall receive Rs. 50,000/- (FIFTY THOUSAND RUPEES) which shall be subjected to Tax Deducted at Source i.e. 30% (THIRTY per cent) of the total prize money.

The Third Place Winning Band shall receive Rs. 25,000/- (TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND RUPEES) which shall be subject to Tax Deducted at Source i.e. 30% (THIRTY per cent) of the total prize money.

The Popular Choice Winner as decided by maximum Facebook likes shall receive Rs. 25,000/- (TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND RUPEES) which shall be subject to Tax Deducted at Source i.e. 30% (THIRTY per cent) of the total prize money.

1) General Terms:
DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL reserves the right to extend the Round 1 entry Last Date, change the Round 2 dates or any other dates relating to the competition and its prize.

DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL will use its best efforts to announce the winners at the designated time, but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays.

DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL reserves the right to change any or all aspects of the Competition including the location of the recording session in the event that the recording studio is deemed unsuitable or made unavailable for hosting the Winner recording session at our desired dates.

2) Entry Requirements:
Submissions must not contain material which is, or promoting activities which are, harmful, threatening, abusive, disparaging, harassing, vulgar, obscene, hateful, pornographic or libelous, or which has other inappropriate content, or is otherwise objectionable as determined by DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL in its sole discretion.

Submissions shall not contain disparaging remarks about any persons, products or companies. Submissions shall not contain materials which are not created entirely by the Entrant or which are owned by others (other than specific audio assets or materials which the Entrant owns a license to use commercially such as a purchased sample pack). And Submissions shall not be in violation of any law.

By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you in your Entry is true, accurate and complete in every respect. DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL reserves the right to verify any information contained in your Entry and/or your eligibility to enter the Competition.

DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL is open to all amateur and professional artists.

Eligibility:
All participating bands should comprise of semi-professional musicians (18 years and above) with a band size of 4 to 8 members. Semi-professional includes students, young professionals and amateurs.
Professional music bands are not eligible. However, participating bands may have two professionals at most in their group.

3) Grant of Rights:
By entering into the Competition, each Entrant agrees and grants the rights to DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL to use all submitted information, data and material in connection with their application in the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL Website and in the promotion, marketing, advertising and publicity of the competition by DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL or agents acting on its behalf. Personal information such as your name and email address will not be made public or shared with third parties outside of DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL and its agents unless required to by law.

By entering into the Competition, each Entrant agrees and grants the rights to DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL to use all submitted information, data and material in connection with their application, excluding personal information such as your name and email address, in the promotion of the Competition on third party websites and networks.

By entering the Competition, the Entrant acknowledges that all songs, information and media submitted to the Competition may be distributed to the Judges and used, as necessary, in their role of determining whether an Entrant remains in the Competition, becomes a Winner or is rejected from the Competition at any stage.

The Entrant retains all ownership right to all submitted songs. DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL will not have any ownership rights to any songs submitted. However DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL will reserve the right to use the songs and videos fruit of the recordings at the DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL event, for promotional use and for possible music releases such as compilations.

The winning band authorises the Organiser to use the songs and photos and videos that make up the band’s concert and are recorded during the event of DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL for promotional and display purposes, IEC materials and also for any other use as may be deemed appropriate for the initiative.

4) Competition Winners:
Winners will be notified by email and via the Website. Winners may be required to sign an Affidavit confirming that their song is original and that he/she/they hold all rights to the song. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period, or provision of false information may result in disqualification from the Competition and an alternative Winner being selected. Affidavits are subject to verification by DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL and its agents.

Entry to the competition constitutes permission to use the winners’ name, likeness and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional remuneration or compensation.

Each Winning Entry may be required to send a copy of his/her/their passport, drivers’ license, birth certificate or other official legal or governmental document as proof of age and residency.

If a Winning Entry cannot be contacted within five (5) calendar days of first notification attempt; or if the notification email is returned as undeliverable; or if the Winning Entry rejects his/her/their prize; or in the event of non-compliance by the Winning Entry with these Competition Rules; or if the Affidavit or Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release is not properly executed, then the Winning Entry shall be disqualified and shall forfeit the Competition prize(s). In addition, an alternative Entrant may be selected by DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL and its Judges, as a Winning Entry in the place of the disqualified Winning Entrant from the remaining eligible Entrants.

If a prize cannot be awarded for any reason related to the Entrant’s actions or inability to receive the prize, it will be forfeited.

In case of claims from a third party laid on the Organiser with regard to infringement of copyrights, the competition participant who has sent the material in question, agrees to take any actions to dismiss the claims and cover any damages and costs connected with the claims, including the costs of the trial or legal services.

By accepting a prize in the Competition, each Winning Entry agrees that DHUN – A BEAT FOR SKILL, its Sponsors, Judges and other agents shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from participation in the Competition, acceptance, or use of any prize, or any travel related thereto.
