Sand Sculpture Competition :

The Dy. Director of South Zone Tourism Office under the guidance of the Collector South Goa who is Chairman of the South Goa District level Co-ordination Committee for Tobacco Control has decided to continue with the idea of organizing Sand Sculpture Competition at the Colva beach on 29/05/2016 in order to highlight the World No Tobacco Day (which is in fact on 31st of May annually) for either an individual or a pair (maximum in each entry is 2 members) and in two categories

Categories:
1. Professional/Artist: Age 21 years & above
2. Student : 15 years to 21 years

Theme:
The theme of this sand sculpture competition is tobacco and its ill effects.

Note:
** Some of the members of the Hospitality Industry, Tour & Travel Fraternity, shack owners, water sports operators in South Goa have come forward to extend their support for sponsoring prizes, sound system, lunch packets for participants on this occasion.

** This competition is likely to begin at 9.30 a.m.at the Colva. Beach in an area of about 2 mtrs X 2 mtrs per participant and the same will be judged by a three member team of architect, artist and art fraternity from 4.00 p.m. to be followed by prize distribution.

Prizes:
There are total 13 prizes in cash i.e. 1st prize Rs. 15,000/-, the second prize Rs.10,000/- and the third prize Rs.5,000/-. While there are 10 consolation prizes of Rs.2,000/- each to the best 10 sculptures for 1st Category and 1st prize Rs.5,000/-, the second prize Rs.3,000/- and the third prize Rs.2,000/-. While there are 10 consolation prizes of Rs.1,000/- each to the best 10 sculptures for 2nd Category.

Entry Procedure :
The Entry Forms can be collected from the South Zone
Tourism Office but forwarded to the Dy. Director of Tourism duly filled at
Margao South Zone Office,
New Collectorate Bldg., Ground
Floor, Margao-Goa

on or before 26th May’2016 or e-mail the same E-mail : deptgoatourismsouth/One(a)gmail.com with the names of individuals/pair (participants) with the age, address and mobile no. to reach this office by 5.00 p.m. before 26.05.2016.

Note:
On The Spot Entry would be excepted if entry forms are available. Invitation is extended to all such artists to participate and for the local populace and the tourists to witness the show.
