Here’s your chance to pitch in and help spread awareness about the need to preserve our earth and the ill effects of garbage overload that we are facing. As part of an initiative associated with the annual Chennai Coastal Cleanup 7 (CCC7), Chennai Trekking Club is launching an online photography contest for all the shutterbugs out there.

How does it work ?:

1. Spot any scene in your surroundings that you feel will fit in any of the below categories:
** Garbage Overload
** Impact of plastics and Garbage in the environment
** Say “No” to plastics
** Segregtion of Waste
** Reduce, Recycle and Reuse
** Give Life,Plant a tree
** Sea is to Swim, not to dump!

2. Capture the moment.
3. Mail it to click4change.ccc@gmail.com. Make sure it adheres to the rules of the contest (available here).
4. Our moderators will review it. See that all the stated rules of the contest are adhered to. And approve it.
5. Approved photos will then be uploaded in a FB album on our CCC7 page. Which you can then share it on your wall with the hashtags #Click4Change #GarbageOverload #ChennaiCoastalCleanup #Chennai Trekking Club

6. At the end of the contest, which is on June 15, winning captures will be announced under categories as below and the photographers will be awarded) :
– People’s Choice – Winner
** People’s Choice – Runner-up
** Jury’s Choice – Winner
** Jury’s Choice – Runner-up
** Jury’s Choice – Special Mention

Eligibility Criteria:
** To be eligible, the Participant’s photographic work(s) must be submitted in accordance with the following guidelines.
** The photographic work(s) must be in a standard and generally accepted digital photographic format.
** All photographic work(s) must be the original work of the Participant and the photographic work(s) must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights
** The photographic work(s) must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.
** The photographic work(s) must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
** The photographic work(s) must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the law.

Note :
The moment you captured should reflect the ill-effects that garbage overload/plastics has on our environment.
