CMS VATAVARAN Poster Competition on ‘Water for Life’ :
Calling all students of fine arts, design and visual arts to participate in the CMS VATAVARAN Student Poster Competition.

CMS VATAVARAN Environment and Wildlife Film Festival and Forum is scheduled to be held from October 9-12, 2015. The festival will focus on problems in water management systems around the world and show the disturbing effects these choices have on human beings. With an aim to reach those who dismiss it as humanity’s inevitable fate, the festival hopes to shift attitudes and initiate a mass movement, before the world slips past the event horizon of the ability to make impactful change.

In consonance with the global efforts, CMS VATAVARAN plans to celebrate the International Decade for Action ‘Water for Life’. During CMS VATAVARAN 2015 and 2016, several interesting programmes i.e. film screenings, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, etc focussing on the environmental, social and economic aspects of the water conservation will be organised. Eminent conservationists, policy makers and the concerned communities will be engaged in deliberations and discourses on the range of the sub-themes and cross-cutting issues of water and conservation.

Theme of the Poster: ‘We are Water’
The poster should explain the fundamental concept that water makes up every life form on this planet.

Through this competition, we are looking for a unique design concept that goes beyond stereotypes to explain Water as a life source and how we have the responsibility to ensure a healthy, secure and sustainable water supply for our people.

Selection of poster:
Best three posters will be selected by an eminent Jury. First Prize winner will be given an award money of INR 5000/-(Cash), second prize winner will get INR 3000/-(Cash) and the third will get a cash award of INR 2000/-. One of the winning poster will be used as one of the collateral for the promotion of the 8th CMS VATAVARAN with credits to the winning artist. The 2015 festival directory will have a photo and profile of the winner. A certificate of appreciation will also be presented to the winner at the gala award ceremony during the festival.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. There is no entry fee.
2. Fine arts, design and visual arts students in India can participate in this competition.
3. The participant must be a citizen of India.
4. The participant must be between 18 to 28 years.
5. One participant can submit only one poster as an entry.
6. The poster must be an original work of art.
7. The poster can be of any size and medium.
8. Do not submit the original artwork. Only submit a photo of the original poster (maximum 5 MB size). along with the following details-
a. Name
b. Contact number
c. Email
d. Design concept (100 words)

9. The winner will be required to submit an open source file.

Key Dates:
1. Final Submission by: August 30, 2015
2. Results will be Announced: September 10, 2015
