State Level Science Drama Festival 2015-16:
Nehru Science Centre is constituent unit of NCSM, New Delhi. National Council of Science Museums working under the aegis of Ministry of Culture,Govt. of India believe in spreading the scientific literacy and eradication of superstition in the rural areas and, as such has requested the State Council of Educational Research & Training, Alto—Porvorim in collaboration with Nehru Science centre, Mumbai and Goa Science Centre, Miramar to organize a Science Drama contest at the State Level for the school students from Std VI to Std X.

It is proposed to hold this Science Drama contest at the State Level from which two best dramas will be selected to take part in Zonal Science Drama Festival to be held at Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai during November 2013. The State Level Science Drama contest will be held on September 29, 2015 for schools from North Goa district and September 30, 2015 for schools from South Goa district at Goa Science Centre, Marine Highways, Miramar, Goa from 10.00 am onwards on both the days.

The theme / topic of the Drama is: Science & Society.

The sub Themes are:
1. Life and Works of Scientists
2. Light and Life
3. Save our Soil
4. Cleanliness and Health
5. Science in Daily Life
6. Innovate or Perish

Please note that the play could be based on above topic and should convey a definite Scientific message. A copy of the rules 86 regulations for the event is enclosed for your reference.

Rules & Regulations of the Science Drama Festival:
a) For Script Writer:
The drama should not be an academic exercise and boring. It should give emotional and aesthetic experience to the performers and also to the audiences.

It should totally engage the audiences and give educational message indirectly. The performers and the audiences should feel happy that they Understood / learnt something in.

While writing the play, care should be taken with regard to the settings, duration of the play and also the number of artists taking part in the drama.

For Participants
The duration of the drama should not be more than 30 minutes.

There should not be more than 8 actors (including male and female) as a team for easy mobility.

It should convey — Scientific message.

The drama team should be able to set up and stage the drama quickly.

The language should be easy to follow (more of visual preferred).

The drama can be in any Indian Language (official).

The drama can have costumes, dance, music, mime and also model to enhance the quality and credibility of the drama.

Written posters / banners / A.V. aids /backdrops can be used for illustration.

If presented in any language other than in English or Hindi, the participating school has to submit an authentic Hindi / English translation of the script to the organizer well before staging the drama
