University Level Research Competition “Avishkar 2015”:
As you are aware Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik is a State-level Health Science University imparting knowledge in the field of Health Science courses and our students are budding Doctors having a noble cause. Further, Health Sciences is the most sought out field today as there are enough career options available as compared to earlier days. But to excel and sustain a specific knowledge Research Activity forms the core principal of that Profession. Our students need to be encouraged and inculcate in them Research Mode. Therefore, we organise MUHS Level Research Competition “Avishkar” every year. Thereafter, the selected participants can participate in Inter-University Research Festival “Avishkar-2015” to be organized by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Initiated by the Chancellor’s office of Maharashtra State.

You are requested to go through details of MUHS Level Research Competition “Avishkar-2015” and give it wide publicity by displaying the information on Notice Board and encourage maximum participation of the Students of your College. Eligible participants should fill the requisite forms and send it to University so as to reach on or before 15th October 2015 positively.

Details of University Level Research Competition “Avishkar -2015”
The six categories are as follows:
Category 1: Humanities, Languages and Fine Arts etc.
a) Preventive Medicine

Category 2: Commerce, Management and law.
a) Forensic Medicine

Category 3: Pure Sciences
a) Anatomy b) Physiology c) Bio- Chemistry d) Microbiology e) Biotechnology

Category 4: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
a) Biophysics b) Biomedical c) Biosensors

Category 5: Engineering and Technology
a) Biophysics b) Biomedical c) Biosensors

Category 6: Medicine and Pharmacy
a) Medicine, b) Pharmacy

1) Participant under each category will have to submit hard copy of the Synopsis/Research Paper/Project on following points (02 pages not more than 250 words) by 15th October 2015.

2) Objectives
3) Hypothesis
4) Materials & Methods
5) Result
6) Conclusion

2) Line space-single, Font Size : 12 for English (Verdana or Times New Roman)
Font Size: 16 for Marathi (MG Shree)

3) At the time of competition (Date will be declared in October) participants will have to bring Poster of the Research Paper/Project on 1 Meter X 1Meter flex as per Annexure ‘A’. Maximum 2 Participants per entry are allowed.

4) Working Model/ Static Model. In case of Working Model/Static Model maximum 5 participants per entry are allowed any 2 participants will be allowed to present/ demonstrate the working of the model.

5) All Posters should include participant category, Title of the Projects and Name of Authors.

6) Candidates can participate from following levels UG/PG/Post PG/Teacher for any of the 6 categories mentioned above.

All the participants shall fulfill one of the following conditions as per the category of participation:
1) Undergraduate:
Students pursuing Bachelors degree programme in our University or constituent / affiliated colleges who are below the age of 25 are eligible to participate in any of the six discipline under this category depending upon the area of his/ her research work irrespective of the faculty/stream/subject in which he/she has enrolled for the degree/diploma in the participating University.

2) Post- Graduate:
Any student who has completed his/her bachelors degree and pursuing post graduate studies in our University or constituent/affiliated colleges who is below the age of 30 is eligible to participate in any of the six disciplines under this category depending upon the area of his/her research work, irrespective of the faculty/stream/subject in which he she has enrolled for the post graduate degree/diploma in the participating university.

3) Post- PG:
Any person having a Post Graduate degree and has registered for a degree such as D.M., M.Ch. or Ph.D. etc or is pursuing Post Doctoral Research in our University or constituent/affiliated colleges is eligible to participate in any of the six disciplines under this category depending upon the area of his her research work. Irrespective of the faculty/stream/subject in which he/she has enrolled without any stipulated age limit.

4) Teacher:
Only those regular/ approved teachers of affiliated colleges/recognized institutes from our University will be allowed to participate in this category.

7) All participants will be given participation Certificate.

8) Instruments and any other concerned material should be brought by the participant. Table, Chair and affixing material for poster will be provided by the University

9) Participant should make arrangement for displaying of Poster / Model etc by 10.00 am on the day of the competition.

10) All Participants should fill Entry Form compulsorily and submit two Passport size photographs with full name and college name written on backside of the photograph and submit it along with Project/Synopsis.

11) Participants will have to Travel by own cost or the concerned college should bear the TA/DA Expenditure of the participants.

12) Decision of the Judges will be final:
The Date and venue of Competition will be intimated to the participants through concerned college.

13) Schedule of Competition:-
At University Level Research Competition – Avishkar 2015 round participants Research Paper/Project will be judged by the Judges.
