Regional Mathematical Olympiad:

Mathematical Olympiad is a problem solving competition originating at the state or regional level and terminating in a world championship. The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

Eligibility:
All Indian students who are born on or after August 1, 1997 and, in addition, are in Class IX, X, XI are eligible to appear for the RMO . Class XII students will not be eligible to appear for RMO. Highly motivated and well prepared students from Class VIII may also take the RMO at the discretion of the Regional Coordinator.

How to apply for RMO-2016:
Here are a few steps you need to follow:
1. An interested candidate should normally register through the Head of her/his institution.
2. Each candidate is charged a registration fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only).
3.The candidate may select one of the test centres mentioned in the list provided in the main page.

4.The Head of the institution is expected to send us the list of candidates mentioning their names, class, their choice of centres along with registration fees as a single crossed Demand Draft favouring “Indian Statistical Institute” payable at Bangalore. The head of the institution should also provide an email addres (if possible) so that the list scores of all the students of your Institution could be sent as soon as they are available.

5. On the backside of the DD please write the name of your institution and contact number.

If the school/college is not willing to do the registration, a student may apply directly to us by sending DD of Rs. 200/- favouring “Indian Statistical Institute” payable at Bangalore, and all details: name, class, name of school/college, parents’ names, postal address, phone number, email address (if possible), center chosen from the list provided.
