It is a proud moment for Indradhanu a 29 year old Thane’s own cultural organization & Jitnyasa…. to announce Student of Year Award to find out the hidden multi talent in students & boost them to drive excellence in their career.

This is an excellent opportunity to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement, leadership ability, progression in sports, cultural excellence, skills development and noble citizenship.

ELIGIBILITY :
1. 8th or 9th standard student of any school within Thane CITY LIMITS can participate in the competition.
2. The on-line submission of the application form is necessary .
3. Application forms will be made available on indradhanuthane.org till 31st August 2016.
4. All the supporting/proof documents should be submitted on the website mentioned above .
5. Any fake information will lead to disqualification of the candidate for the competition.
6. It is necessary to declare name of one mentor for each application. Mentor may be teacher, parent or anyone who can groom and guide the student for various stages of competition. (There can be One mentor for many students).
7. Endorsement of school is desirable but not compulsory.
8. A candidate will be eligible for final round only after attending all the rounds as per the time schedule declared by the organizers.
9. Final Decision is the authority of judges and organizers

SCORING METHOD :
Marks will be allotted on point basis for each category or level.
These points will be called as stars.
Cumulative Number of stars earned in progression leads to winning the award.
The organisers will decide point allocation structure.

Details of Levels :
A. Academic Progress
This is purely based on mark sheets (Student’s last 2 year’s mark sheet should be submitted along with application)

B. Art Skills
Art includes any form of art such as drawing, music, dance,painting etc
This level is a performance-based level
On a given day a participating student will have to perform/display , his/her art in front of the audience or judges.
This level will have performances by all the participants qualifying for round 3.

C. Hobbies
Perseverance in hobbies, special training undertaken & knowledge in the area will be observed.
A physical submission of hobby collection or hobby outcome will have to be made at the time of an interview (Round 5).

D. Sports factor
Sports achievements will have to be submitted at the time of application submission . It is necessary to submit certificate or recognition document along with application.

E. Special skills
Special skills include hands on skills such as assembling or disassembling electronic gadgets, cooking, tailoring etc., or exceptional ability such as solving rubic cube or any other such skills The participant will have to actually perform or display his/her skill in front of the judges. When called for.

F. Elocution
There will be elocution competition on a day specified in the calender. Judging committee will consider the following points:
1. Clarity and continuity of thought
2. Originality of thought
3. Convincing ability
5. Correctness of sentence structure
6. Presence of mind
7. Understanding of subject

G. Essay Writing
The evaluation will be on the basis of:
1. Clarity and continuity of thought
2. Originality of ideas
4. Use of words
5. Grammatical Correctness

H. Physical & mental skills
A competition to judge the physical & mental ability would be held.

I. Noble citizenship
For the assessment of this round Student should submit document related to social work, leadership quality, Participation in any noble cause activity, on 24th or 25th September 2016 during the art performance round. This could be further probed during interview.
