Swachhata Pakhwada Cleanliness Fortnight :
The Board recognizes the vital role for schools to educate and sensitize their students about the importance of cleanliness for a healthy, socially responsible, economically dynamic and progressive nation. In this regard, the SWACHHTA PAKHWADA ~ CLEANLINESS FORTNIGHT, is a campaign to bring teachers, students, parents and the community together to fulfil this mission.

The activities, conducted between 1st to 15th September 2016 , will enable schools to take the mission for cleanliness to their local community, thereby fulfilling a wider, national goal. School Heads are requested to ensure the maximum participation of all stakeholders in the campaign. They may also submit a report of about 50 words and upload photographs , covering each day’s activity/ies, on the link given below
Suggested Activities :
1. DO NOT THROW LITTER around! Make the effort to find a dustbin and use it!
2. LEAVE TOILETS CLEAN after every use. Post messages/slogans about personal hygiene and cleanliness near toilets/wash areas.
3. WEED OUT OLD FILES/RECORDS in accordance with school / Boards norms
4. DISPOSAL of broken furniture, equipment etc. completely from the school premises.
5. USE ONLY RECYCLABLE WASTE for all art and craft activities. Hold an exhibition for the public to demonstrate your skills and creativity.
6. APPOINT SWACCHTA MONITORS and acknowledge those who have been doing good work during 2015-16 academic session.
7. MAINTAIN TWO/MORE DUSTBINS FOR SEGREGATION OF SCHOOL WASTE – ORGANIC and INORGANIC. The Environment Club members /Scouts and Guides will ensure waste disposal is done systematically and sustainably. Put up an informative sign board nearby.
8. PREPARE AND MAINTAIN A COMPOST PIT for all biodegradable, organic waste as a part of the Environment and Science Club, Scout & Guide Activities. Use the natural fertilizer for your school garden. Put up an informative sign board near the pit.
9. ADOPT A MONUMENT near your school and help to keep it clean.
10. ADOPT A PARK and help maintain its greenery and keep it clean. Label the plants / trees for information. Put up signs with messages about cleanliness.
11. POSTER DRAWING competition to be conducted for classes I-XII, to raise awareness that a clean environment and healthy body makes one mentally alert.
12. 5-MINUTE INFORMATIVE FILM/S by classes IX-XII, on various issues related to cleanliness for presentation to students/stakeholders/community.
13. SPEECH COMPETITION on any theme to be conducted from classes III-XII, raising awareness that a clean environment and health body makes one mentally alert.
14. A NUKKAD NATAK/SKIT can be performed by students of classes IX-XII, that raises awareness that a clean environment and healthy body makes one mentally alert.
15. SCHOOL HEAD’S /TEACHERS’ ADDRESS DURING SCHOOL ASSEMBLY about issues of cleanliness, raising awareness that a clean environment and healthy body makes one mentally alert.
16. SCHOOL HEADS / EXPERTS from the public health sector to address parents during Parent- Teacher Meetings.
17. PANEL OF EXPERTS from the public health sectors may address all stakeholders, share concerns, and together, arrive at practical suggestions to promote and sustain cleanliness at home, school and in the community.
18. RESEARCH ABOUT TRADITIONAL AND CULTURAL PRACTICES that promote cleanliness share your findings and demonstrate through working models and conduct an exhibition for the public /stakeholders.
19. SCHOOL HEADS and TEACHERS MAY MONITOR AND ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY of all practices to keep the school premises and the surrounding areas clean throughout.
20. VISIT TO NEARBY COMMUNITIES to promote the message of cleanliness and ways to sustain good practices through dance, drama or addressing the community members, by senior students, under a teacher’s supervision.
