National Science Film Festival :

A Festival of Films on Science, Technology, Environment & Health Vigyan Prasar (VP), an autonomous organisation under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India take pride to announce 7th National Science Film Festival & Competition 2017.

Categories of Films (competitive and non-competitive):
Films on science, technology, environment and health are invited from film makers / institutions / students under the following categories:

Category A:Films made by government and non-government 15-25 minutes institutions/organisations
Category B: Film made by independent film makers 15-25 minutes /production houses
Category C:Films made by college students 5 – 25 minutes
Category D:Films made by students studying in upto 10 minutes class 6th to 12th
Category E: Films made on spot mobile phone upto 5 minutes

Non Competitive Category:
**  Films made with foreign collaborations
** Films from other countries
**  Films made by host organisations

General Conditions for Entry in categories A to E:
1. Films produced ONLY between 16th December 2015 and 15th December 2016 will be entertained. Films submitted in earlier NSFFs will not be accepted.
2. Applicants can submit maximum two entries in one category. Separate entry form is required for each entry.
3. Films produced in languages other than Hindi or English must be sub-titled in English.
4. Captions and credits must be clear, legible and must be within the safe areas.
5. Theme for the category E will be announced on the first day of the festival.

6. VP and NCSM:
a. will have the right to telecast and screen the awarded / shortlisted films as and when required for educational purpose.
b. will not be responsible for any damage to DVD submitted by the participants.
c. reserve the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason.
d. can change the category of the film without any explanation if the film is not found suitable for the category indicated by the applicant.

7. DVD of films submitted for the festival / competition will be retained by the organisers.
8. Producers /Directors of awarded films under the category A & B will have to resubmit copy of the film in Blu Ray/DVC pro.
9. It is essential to fill all the columns in the entry form, failing which the entry is liable to be rejected.
10. The award money of all the beaver awards will be distributed equally between the producer (copy right holder) and the director. Trophies will go to the producers and certificates will be awarded to both the producer and director.
11. The film should not violate the copyright / intellectual property law. In case such a violation is reported at a later date the awardee/s will a. be liable for any legal action.

Last date for receipt of entries:
All entries (separeate entry form for each film) for the 7th National Science Film Festival and Competition – 2017 should reach by 5 pm on or before 15th December 2016 along with enclosures by hand/speed post/ courier on the following address:
