Work In Progress Lab:

The Work-In-Progress Lab gives selected filmmakers a chance to screen the rough cut of their film to an eminent panel of international advisors, which include a film festival director, producers, world sales agent and an editor.

Eligibility:
** The Work-in-Progress Lab is open only to films from India and South Asia.
** The film to be submitted should be in their rough-cut stage or just before the final edit. All or a large part of the principal photography must be complete, but not the entire post-production. Completed films are ineligible for the Work-in-Progress Lab.
** Short films (under 60 min) are ineligible for the Work-in-Progress Lab.

Application:
The applications for the 2016 edition of the Work-in-Progress Lab will begin on August 1, 2016. There is a common application form for both Viewing Room and Work-in-Progress Lab. A curated list of films eligible for the Lab will be declared on November 1, 2016.

When you apply, you will need:
** Details of the applicant (Director, Producer, Production company)
** Synopsis (100 words max)
** Director’s Note (100 words max)
** Filmography of director and producer
** a copy of the film in specified format (see Rules & Regulations)
** Three stills of submitted film
** In case you are submitting your film via USB drive, please do not send any hard copy documents along with it.

Selection Process:
** A maximum of 5 films are selected for the Work-in-Progress Lab (5 feature-length fiction films only)
** The decision of Film Bazaar will be final.
** Projects that are not selected for the Work-In-Progress Lab can be showcased in the Viewing Room if the applicant is seeking finishing funds, distribution or film festivals for the film, without any additional application fee.

Specific Conditions:
** A filmmaker can choose to submit a film in both sections – Viewing Room and Work-in-Progress. (For more information, please read the Rules | Regulations)
** The director and the editor of the films selected for the Work-in-Progress Labs will be provided free registration to the Film Bazaar, along with free shared accommodation for two.
** In case the director cannot attend the Film Bazaar, the film will be disqualified from the Work-In-Progress Lab and another project will be selected in its place.
** The producer of the film cannot attend the Work-In-Progress Lab in place of the director and the editor of the film cannot attend in the absence of the director.
** A rough cut or rough assembly of the entire film (or a majority of it, but not a trailer) should be brought along by the applicant at the selection screening.

Dates:
Last Date Extended : 10 October 2016
** Entries open in the first week of August.
** The Work-in-Progress Lab is held during Film Bazaar between 20 – 24 November, 2016.
** The Early Bird Last Date for completed applications is August 31, 2016 (11:59 pm IST).
** The last date of submission of completed applications* is 30 September, 2016.

Note:
*An application is complete only after we receive the online form, payment and the film – either online or via USB drive

Fee:
Application fee for submissions (fiction features only)
** INR 5500/- for submissions received before the Early Bird Last Date
** INR 6500/- for submissions received after the Early Bird Last Date until the last date of submission
